Sexual OCD/POCD

Please advise for the TMI. I had a pornography addiction I overcame. It was tough especially having ocd every person or video I saw my ocd would compare that individual to someone I knew and would say im arousing over them. There was a particular video where there was an older woman and mid twenties woman snd the title was mother and daughter. At the time i was imagining a friend of mine who is older and has a daughter. So my ocd said that means i was thinking of her daughter too because of the title which gives me anxiety because i dont want to. But the title is what my ocd is obssessing over and says i was thinking of her younger daughter. So now i avoid my friend and her family. And i doubt what i was thinking of the daughter but i know my intent was to think of my friend. This was last year but the ocd stll comes bck to haunt me. I begin to doubt my intentions.

I'm also having a lot of trouble with pornography, you're not alone. What it does to the mind really sucks, especially if it started at a young age. I'm sorry it's connecting with your OCD. I'm glad you overcame this addiction though!!

hey, i'm really sorry you're going through this. ocd can be incredibly tricky, making us doubt our intentions and causing a lot of anxiety over things we know aren't true deep down. 🌱 i'm battling a different ocd theme myself, so i totally get how exhausting and confusing it can be. it might be more helpful to share some tools that have been a game changer for me. one app that's been super helpful is "unstuck ocd therapy tools." it's this new app that my local ocd support group recommended. it gives you ai-personalized guidance and exercises right when you need them, which is pretty neat for those tough moments. also, there's this other app called "gg ocd" that's worth checking out. it's different because it teaches you about cbt through small, bite-sized learning modules. it's not as personalized and doesn't help in the moment like unstuck does, but it's a good start if you're looking to understand the basics of cbt for ocd. hope this helps a bit! 💪

adult content addiction and ocd

18+ please! Sorry if this inappropriate. Does anyone else deal with the consequences of having consumed pornography and has ocd? Can you tell me if you also have a lot of intrusive thoughts during sexual activity? I'm not proud to say that I had access to this type of content at a young age and it grew with me until the first years of my adult life. I only became aware of the extent of the damage when I received my ocd diagnosis and even though my therapist and I believe that I have had ocd since childhood, addiction to pornography was an important factor in making the disorder worse since I suffer from graphic images and sexual content intrusive thoughts I've been trying to learn how to have a good relationship with my sexuality without using pornography for a few months, but it's not always easy to use my imagination when I have some tabs open in my head that get in my way. I really can't and don't want to have access to any type of adult content anymore, but I always think it's easier to be able to "silence" intrusive thoughts. It's happened several times where I try to use my imagination and then I have an intrusive thought and I think I stimulated myself by thinking about it and it's just disgusting and I feel really bad. I've been trying to deal with this for months and with medical help for both problems, I really feel dirty and lost about it and I don't know how to make it stop. I spent days avoiding even thinking about anything sexual so I wouldn't have to deal with it, but my therapist said that this is also unhealthy and can become a compulsion, so I don't know what to do. Anyone who goes through/has gone through something similar?

POCD (TRIGGER PORN)

It’s 4am and I’m really freaking myself out. So full disclosure…I used to watch Porn and this triggered SO OCD initially. I feel like it’s NOW jumped into POCD. In the past I used to click on vids of women performing sexual acts. (Hence the SO OCD) But now I’m freaking out that I actually finished and enjoyed myself to the vids that maybe said Teen in the title or what not. At the time I didn’t believe that those girls were actually underage because why would that be legal and distributed on Porn hub? Maybe these girls are trying to click bait a weird thing? I assumed Teen meant 18. Now I look back on it and feel gross and that I’m a predator. I would never condone anything like that in real life. I keep questioning myself like “Why the hell did I do that?” “why didn’t I click off the video?” If that person was actually 17 or younger I would freaking lose it. How could I live with myself? How could I ever be a good person?

Porn & Lack Of Sexual History [18+]

Anybody else use their lack of sexual history as a way for OCD to use as evidence? I just start remembering all the times I could have had sex but didn’t. I also had a HUGE porn addiction that made it so difficult to function. I remember that I was always afraid of having sex with anyone other than my ex because I was emotionally abused and I felt like if she found out, she would get mad and at the time, that would break me. I’d always overthink about sex and what could happen if It happened at that moment. My mind would fill with questions and I just would end up saying I rather not have any sex. My therapist believed I could have shown signs of OCD early on. I believe that’s what’s happened then and now. I don’t like guys romantically and I love getting excited for a woman. I love that feeling of seeing a pretty girl and getting the chance to know her. It makes my heart so happy. But I would do everything I can to avoid speaking with a guy, even if he was not conventionally attractive. Porn makes me feel like I could turn gay since I watched it so much. I’ve lost interest in watching porn which is a good thing but now ocd is like “oh you don’t get turned on by porn anymore, and those videos had girls in it so that must mean you don’t like girls anymore.” Like how stupid is that. I also saw on Reddit and Quora that people were saying porn can change your attraction/make you lose interest in girls. I know Quora and Reddit are OCD’s best ways at scaring you and these forums are never to be taken seriously, but man does it trigger you. Anyways if you made it this far, thank you. I’m just overthinking a lot today
