this boy wants to talk to me and im 18. he’s 16 and he turns 17 2 days before my birthday. i feel conflicted. ive dated someone two years younger than me before but that was when i was a minor, now that im 18 im worried. is this ok? im in Florida btw.
This is fine and normal. Most states have a “Romeo & Juliet” law. I googled Florida and found: “Per F.S. 794.05, a minor who is 16 or 17 can consent to sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 24. In that case, no crime is committed. Same with consensual teen relationships between individuals 13 to 17 when there is no more than a 4-year age gap.” I’m in a different state and we have the 4-year age gap, too. I think this is common. But if this is your ocd, maybe just try to live with the uncertainty- like, “maybe it’s not okay.”
I get you're probably most worried about the fact that he's 16, but as mentioned above the Romeo and Juliet laws do exist. If it's just about the age gap, my bf and I, who I've dated since I was 18, and he was 25 have a 7 year age gap. I get many people will say that's weird and gross, but honestly it was my choice, and I haven't had any problems. My parents and his parents know, and it's been a decent 3 year relationship. I feel like it would be much different if you were 20 and he was 16, but when you turn 20 he will be 18, and it won't be weird at all, just like it's not weird now. I think this relationship is fine.
I’m 26 and a female. I have this big thing about guys talking to younger girls like I think it’s super creepy when a 26 year old goes after like 18-20 year old girls. Like going out of their way, usually if I know the age of a guy is under 22 even I’m like NOOO. But my friends brother is 20 turning 21 soon and he’s very cute and I am attracted to him and we kissed and I am in my head so much about it because of the age difference. I didn’t really think I’d be attracted to him because I did think he was cute but his age was like a no no for me but now I’m like it isn’t even a big deal & im not going after young guys as I hate men do it like legit go after those ages specifically. I’m in my head a lot about it thinking am I a creep for that? Does this mean I like younger people? I have had sexual trauma from childhood of being weird with other kids with games and stuff even though I was only 7. So I get scared I’m just this creepy creep who likes younger kids even though he’s 20 and not a kid but I’m scared in my head ugh.
So back then when I was 18 I went to Mexico the month after my birthday and I met this dude there who was 14 but turned 15 that same month and we had a thing for a eachother and he did look older and was much taller than me and seemed mature. But now I’m so worried why did I like him or talk to him that way back then. I am now 20 and he’s 17 and I haven’t talked to him at all because I’m in a loving healthy relationship with my bf who is 27. I have a fear of being a pedo and I’m so scared that what happened back then makes me a pedo :((
im still worried that a two year age gap 16 and 18 is bad and that is a warning sign im a “p” or im grooming the person
