False memory
Hello y'all ;) When and under what circumstances did your false memory pop up? Did it present as a photo or like a movie tape etc? I am just curious and trying to find a way to distance myself from this image.

most false memories I have are weirdly in third person like im watching it on a video š¤ I usually am able to decipher as the memories are illogical, but sometimes it is difficult
I view my intrusive thoughts in first person, they are like a quick flashing image that is always really disturbing. I then later build the story through rumination / trying to figure it out.
It's the same with me :( and do they arise in an anxious state?

And when did they pop up, how can you say they are false?
@Mayla123 You canāt. We just have to accept that weāll never remember things clearly. Thatās the fun part lol!
@Zahra991 Really this gives me hope
@Zahra991 I can not live with the thoughts being true..
@Mayla123 The image... i mean it arose when I was in an anxious state but anyway..
@Zahra991 It wasnt what if.. well after the image it was a what if.. but the picture/image was in my head
I experienced the worst as a picture :(
They are so so annoying because the more you use logic to prove them wrong and argue with them the more real they feel and then you get stuck like I am now š«
I saw a meme, my ocd ran with it.
@Anonymousee My false memories add in, but I canāt see faces, itās very blurry like a dream. I canāt physically touch it in my head. Itās like a cloudy figment. Thatās how my OCD shows up as memories, real memories have senses. Smell, touch, sight.
When false memories have popped up for you guys, did they feel real straight away like pop up like a memory but youāre still doubting whether theyāre real?
Can it feel like you literally remember a false memory happening? And it feels like the memory has always been there and you vividly remember it happening that way? Because I donāt even know if Iām experiencing a false memory or not but god it feels so fucking real. Like I literally remember it happening. But whatās weird is the original memory was kind of different. 2 years later, the memory is not the same, but it feels like I literally remember it happening. And in this memory, Iām fucking snapping. Iām acting on my thoughts. I feel like a fucking psycho. I hope this is just OCD
Has false memory OCD affected you so badly that you feel that a lot of your memories period are unclear, vague, fuzzy and canāt recall correctly?
