I think ocd is very difficult to understand for those who don’t have it. That’s why I haven’t talked about it with my boyfriend yet, I know it can hurt both of us. I tried when the very first symptoms appeared and it was really scary. I think I will do one day, but not yet. If someone is able to understand you and your ocd thoughts, I think they can be a valuable person to spend the rest of your life with, I would interpret is as a sign of real love. At the same time though, you require a lot of strength to share such a massive rock like this and it’s comprehensible to want to wait for sharing it, also because you have been with your boyfriend since just a couple of months. So don’t worry too much if you still don’t want to talk about your ocd, I think is pretty normal, and it’s your own “war”.

Hiya! My boyfriend knows. I was terrified at first, however I asked my therapist at the time talk to him for 5-10 mins explained an over view of ocd and then what my theme was. I found this the best way for me as I couldnt bring myself to say it initally however once I knew he knew I was better with it. He still doesnt fully understand but he really does his best and thats all that matters. Even if you dont share your subtype maybe start by explaining you have ocd and what ocd is would that help maybe?
