I saw a TikTok video talking about “aesthetic attraction” and now I keep having to try and prove that I’m really attracted to women. I’m trying my hardest to analyze the types of attraction and make sure I’m feeling the right one, and it’s hard because I’ve already panicked about this before but ever since I saw that video I’m constantly worried that I’m somehow faking it or not really attracted to women but just don’t know it yet. Anyone else relate?

im aroace but i feel aesthetic attraction toward people all the time and im always like “so what if this means im not aroace…” i’ve found its easiest to combat it by defining aesthetic attraction by my reaction to a beautiful sunset or something like that. i dont want to have sexy times with a sunset

@lolbitz Ah yeah! That helps a lot! Because I’m definitely sexually attracted to women, so I guess it would be way more than simple aesthetic attraction! I guess OCD can find anything to kick you in the ass huh?

@lolbitz For me it’s constantly worrying whether my attraction to women is just aesthetic. I got into compulsively checking and it’s a habit I’m trying to break. I would constantly look at nude pictures to check and even though I’d get aroused the reassurance wouldn’t last long. OCD sucks.

@Neytiri I realized that I had been miserable with every boyfriend I had ever had, i always thought I liked them but in the end, I’d only like the idea of them, the way it felt when we were chasing each other. Once I entered into a relationship with a male, I’d automatically feel this big wave of disgust wash over me. My body would physically hurt at the mere thought of them, and being around them was even worse. One day I realized that the crushes I had female characters and actors felt a lot better than I had ever felt with any actual “crush” or “connection” I had felt with a real life male. I then took a week or two, and I’d ask myself “could you ever see yourself genuinely being happy being a man’s wife? Laying next to him in bed, doing normal things with him, could you love him, could you stomach showing him physical affection?” And I immediately felt a wave of disgust wash over me. I then did the same with a woman, i imagined it, asked myself all the same questions, and found that this time my body didn’t ache. I didn’t feel disgusted, I didn’t feel anxious…I felt calm. It felt nice. It felt right, where as with a man even just imagining it felt wrong- like it went against my instinctual nature.

I was trying not to think abt it and honestly inwas doing a great job until a woman came on my fyp on tiktok and said “if u think women are objectively more attractive u re not straight” and now i’m so anxious and distressed and am scared i might be comphet. When i was little i remember being obsessed with the “i cant remember to forget u” mv so i rewatched it and thought it was sensual but nothing more. Idk. She also said that if u use a fantasy to get arroused around men u might not like them. Idk anything anymore Im so tired

LESBIAN DEALING WITH SO OCD

I am a 18 year old masc lesbian with a loving girlfriend for 1 year, and I have been lesbian for almost my whole life and I have never been attracted to men in any way. flash to my past, My ex girlfriend who used to identify as a lesbian had cheated on me with a man. Recently I saw this tiktok of this masc lesbian turn straight and my friends and girlfriend made jokes I am going to turn straight for my male best friend. My male best friend came over and he’s a great guy but I do not want him in any way. when him and i were hanging out my mind threw in a thought it was “What if i like him”, i came back home and i had the worst panic attack and i felt so sick, i cried and i cried. ever since that day I have been struggling with intrusive thoughts, i don’t want a man in any way, and i feel comfortable as a lesbian but these thoughts won’t stop and they become worse when i see people say being lesbian is a phase or that i haven’t met the right guy or i’ll change in the future. i just want these thoughts to stop, i don’t want to stop being a lesbian ever, i love women so much and i just want all of this to be over with. i do not want a man in any way and im tired of my thoughts doubting myself and i hate the “what ifs”, I just want to be my old self, I want to be happy with my girlfriend.

‘Late in life lesbians’

I keep seeing tiktoks of things that are like ‘things I did as a lesbian in denial’ or ‘things my not so straight straight friend said’ and I feel like I might relate to some!! But idk!! It’s kinda triggering me. I’ve had this 5 years on and off now so when it comes back the whole well you’ve had it so long you must be gay comes up. I have been with my boyfriend almost 6 years and i love him so much I don’t want to be gay (nothing weong with it - I’m just not and don’t want to be!)
