Does anyone here struggle with moral scrupulosity OCD? It’s been a lonely journey dealing with intrusive thoughts about being seen as good or bad (aka a failure in my brain), especially dealing with being a lesbian in a very Christian household. Just want someone to talk to.
I recently listed to Purely OCD’s podcast where they talked about SO OCD, and one of the therapist’s discussed how and why she views SO OCD being tied into moral scrupulosity and once she said why, it was a light bulb moment for me. If you need someone to just vent to or seeking advice, I am more than happy to help
@Zoroarcanine Thank you so much! I’ll make sure to check out the podcast and I appreciate the support. I just have so many bottled up thoughts and feelings but it’s so hard to put it all into words sometimes.
@Jay Wright I totally get that! It’s an illness that loves to make us search for the right feeling so even the words we can use never feel right.
My OCD has become so bad and I feel so alone. I have religious OCD (Christianity) and I’ve been doing okay with letting the blasphemous thoughts go in the moment, but I’m so overcome with guilt and shame I can barely function. I can feel okay and hopeful for a few minutes and then I’m reminded of the horrible thoughts and how nothing can take them back and I can’t handle the guilt. I’m becoming a burden to my family and feel so alone. I do not know what to do. Please help.
Is anyone here actually gay and has/had sexuality or religious ocd? I don't have it at all haha I'm a lesbian myself without socd or religious ocd but I'm just curious: what's it like and how did you deal with the whole "biggest fear coming true" thing?
I am a Christian but keep having unwanted really bad intrusive thoughts about Go liike I am talking strange weird thoughts that make me cry they are so uncomfortable. And then I have doubts from time to time if God is real and I look up evidence that God is real and am worried God's going to be upset that I tried to look up proof of his existence. even though I do believe that he is real. Any other Christians with severe OCD out there that go through this struggle? I just don't want God to hate me or be ashamed of me.
