Hey, i am very very sorry to hear that you are struggling so much. It is very distressing, I totally get it. I’ve had it for 4 years now, and there have been months where I just couldn’t get out if this hole. I had the same thought on repeat for up to 6-7 hours every day for weeks. I thought it’ll never get better. I never felt so bad and couldn’t see the end of this. But eventually it will get better and it won’t be like this forever. Please practice coping mechanisms, erp, radical acceptance, whatever helps you. For the past 6 months my ocd was very low and on a very manageable level. It is possible! I hope you’ll feel better soon, you are not alone!🌞

@g🦋 Thank you! Yes oc you can ask! :) For me, lessening my rumination really was a journey. Like a skill you can practice. I know that I startet with pointing out my intrusive thoughts when I noticed them. Sometimes i had them for days and didn’t even realize i was ruminating because i was like.. in trance. So I really tried to tell me „your ruminating/this is an intrusive thought“ to differentiate the thoughts. Then I tried really really hard to not answer them. When I had the thought „imagine this and thats scenario“ or „try to think back into childhood“ or anything else, I did not do it. Oc this was soooo hard! When a thought came up, i was like „oh this thought again. Okay, I’ll let it be“. No negative connotation, no engaging or trying to supress the thought. The more you fight it, the more it will fight back. After time, I got fewer thoughts like this. Engaging in rumination is making things worse. No logic will EVER help you.

And i noticed that things like drawing, sports, pottery; things you physically have to do helped a lot to get me out of my head. „You can’t solve a mind problem through your mind, only through your body.“ I also tried to be gentle with me and have compassion. Everything is just shitty enough, so be nice to yourself! It is not your fault it is that way. But you are capable of handling this, i know you are. We all are :) Restoring faith in my abilities was great as well. Hope this can help you a bit. It isn’t a quick fix I know, but there is none. I wish you all the best 🌞

@g🦋 Swimming sounds fun and I think it is very relaxing! :> I think you should give it a try :> And exam season is always soo stressful :( i hope you’ll have great results and find some time for you to relax and get some rest. I noticed ocd will flare up more if basic needs are not met (sleep, good food or any food at all, drinking enough, fresh air, mental hygiene etc.). Maybe you’ll find some time to recharge :> Thank you!! :>
