I know that other people aren’t responsible for my triggers- like i completely get that- but some people should just think about the shit they post online. I was having a good time on TikTok, just scrolling and enjoying cute cat videos, and then there’s a video that pops up of a teacher holding out his phone and there’s screaming in the background. I didn’t care at first bc I didn’t know what was going on, but then it switched to another clip saying “substitute teacher arrested for showing cp in class”. The screaming was a child in that video, and there was absolutely no warning before the video started. Suddenly my mind is filled with “did you like that?” And groinal responses, even though I literally paused in absolute horror and my body felt like it was one big bruise from the disgust after I realized what was going on. I blocked the creator but I’m still spiraling. People need to but trigger warnings before they post, or just not post that shit at all. Like seriously.

I know things can be stressful with ocd but I recommend looking up ERP . Doing ERP to videos that trigger you can very helpful in helping you overcome ocd. I did it , it was not fun by any means but ERP greatly reduced my anxiety from ocd. I am sorry your ocd is strong to day, hang in there it get better.

@Brooke cookie You are right, ERP helps, but I also agree with the person who made the original comment. People should add trigger warnings to videos like that. No one has to be forced to watch thia kind of content, no matter if they suffer from OCD, or not. Moreover, a lot of people who use TikTok are teenagers, or even children and they definitely should not be exposed to content like that.

😮‍💨I completely understand. That’s how I feel about all those damn Ozempic/“weight loss” ADs… jeez If others are into it fine but I went out of my way to set boundaries for what I choose to interact with on my social media then I expect that to be honored simple. … also I have POCD too so thank you for speaking on this🥹 in general.

Trigger

Idk anymore it feels like being on here is a trigger. Every time I see a minor post on the app, my intrusive thoughts go haywire and then my brain says maybe you should comment something inappropriate and i literally don't wanna fucking do that. It's the last thing I want to do. And now im scared that I commented something crude on someone's post. obviously, when I went to check there was nothing now my brain is saying "you commented and then deleted". I want to think it's something I wouldn't do, but why are the images in my head so real. Children should be safe. I feel like I need to be locked away. Someone please help me.

Triggers

My boyfriend keeps triggering my intrusive thoughts on purpose to mess with me. I've explained how bad they are to him before but i guess he just doesn't get it. He finds it funny when I have such a visceral reaction to him reminding me of them. I hope it doesn't sound too silly but body horror really freaks me out and this one image haunts me so bad when I remember it and he knows that, I trusted him with that knowledge but he loves to just yell out what it is to mess with my head. Now it'll flow in and out of my head for days and I'm gonna have trouble sleeping tonight. Usually distraction works but this one is particularly strong. Does anyone have any good coping skills or tips for going to sleep when it keeps haunting you?

How do you deal with pocd. I mean...things that trigger you.For example someone said something really really disturbing on tik tok.And I am scared.I am scared this triggered me in the first place.Like what does it mean abt me? And I wont say what they said because is disgusting.I am scared I am a bad person and a disgusting......I am scared to go outside ( i am scared i am a...p) .And bcs of people who think like that.I am I am like them.Any advice?
