People are always talking about their contamination ocd and all that stuff and i know its selfish but like I wish that was all I had. I have never had a worse subtype than what I have now and its hell.
I kinda feel like that too sometimes, like I hate to say that but I miss having other subtypes because I suffered when I had them but I didn’t suffer like this. But when I think about that I also think that some people having other obsessions that can be worse for them too. In the end of the day we are all here fighting the same battle and it’s ocd. It’s normal to think that the The neighbor's grass is greener but it’s not always like this. I felt and still sometimes feeling what you are feeling. And I’m sorry that your suffering im suffering too right now like I’m definitely in my rock bottom and Pocd is definitely the worse theme that I have had and it’s very hard to deal with. Hope everything will be good for us and we are going to be able to recover from this some day!
Unfortunately I think it's really common for a lot of us to wish we had a different theme, especially when the theme you have is about taboo/sexual things or concerning your identity :(

I used to think exactly the same way. With my health OCD I constantly believe that I’m dying or just seconds away from it all abruptly ending. So ignoring my compulsions feels like I’m just “letting myself die” (which is especially hard not to resist against because, more than anything, I want to live). I have to be “comfortable” with the possibility that my thoughts are real and it feels near impossible. I’ve often wished I had contamination or another subtype that is more externally focused. However, something I’ve learned is that someone else’s OCD can be equally or more distressing than yours. It’s really all relative to the individual because OCD will always blow things way out of proportion no matter the subtype. The grass is never greener on the other side- just a different shade of brown. We are all in this together
I used to think having another subtype than my main (sexual orientation/sexual ocd) would be easier, until I had a flair of religous OCD and I was like "NOPE NOPE NOPE"
Right? Im currently going through SOOCD rn and I always think oh I'd rather go back to other themes I used to have like my existential theme... until I remember I was in just as much agony with that theme
@Anonymous - because it's an ocd trap! It want us to think that others are better but in reality no matter the theme we will writhe in agony lol (laughing so I don't cry), I think I had this theme switch today but I still struggle with SOOCD and it's unnerving.
Does anybody else look at someone else’s profile here, see the ocd themes they struggle with, and wish that they had those issues i stead of the ones they’re dealing with? I don’t wish ocd on anyone and from me that’s a lot cause I’ve wished some pretty bad shit on people. But I’m just saying I feel like there are some ocd themes that are much worse then others. I have SOOCD and an ROCD equivalent (don’t ask) but what I think is THEE worst OCD? POCD. That shit must be horrible and I’m so sorry for anyone struggling with it
Why do I feel like my subtype or worry keeps changing? I love this app but I feel like reading everyone else’s just makes my OCD a lot worse. It’s so annoying. Anyone else go through this?
lately i’ve just been so angry at anyone who doesn’t suffer from ocd. like i know it’s not their fault but i’m just so angry and jealous they don’t have to deal with this. i get mad when i see them do something as simple as sitting at the kitchen table without thinking about it when i could never in a million years do that because of my contamination ocd. i’m angry and jealous and i know i shouldn’t but i keep blowing up at people because of it. i know everyone has their issues but all i can think about is how much easier they have it because at least they aren’t like me. i’m just so jealous of everyone who doesn’t have to live like this. and i’m mad at myself for having ocd in the first place. it’s all so exhausting and i hate it.
