Hello, does anyone else suffer a huge loss of appetite related to their ocd worsening? I am capable of going a whole day or more without eating even, I just feel completely suffocated by my intrusive thoughts. I just don’t feel like eating, I don’t fear it or anything, just don’t feel like it’s necessary.
Yes , but not in a way that I don’t feel it is necessary. It’s just that I feel so shit and anxious that my stomach will just not let me eat some times , if you get me

@JohnyG I understand, I also feel horrible, however I won’t through up or anything, just feel no interest in eating.

Absolutely do. Lost 6 pounds in the past 2 weeks from appetite loss, I’m just not hungry and don’t feel the desire to eat. I was shocked when I saw the weight loss at first because I thought “well I’m making food?” And then someone pointed out how little I actually eat from the food I make. Since then Ive been trying to eat everything on my plate, essentially forcing myself to eat even when I don’t want to. It’s really hard but losing weight arguably makes my ocd worse
@GScitrus That used to happen a lot to me aswell, the difference being that if I force myself to eat I could end up feeling worse. Do you mind me asking if this loss of appetite happened as you were taking medication for your ocd? Because it is often correlated to mine.
@liaypablo For me it’s just whenever my ocd gets worse! It’s been horrible for the past two weeks, and the same thing happened in May as well when I was going through a rough patch. But I do know that I’m gonna start Zoloft soon, which can possibly cause appetite loss. If you notice a correlation, then it very well could be the medication in your case!
yes, i know what you mean. in the past 3 months, i haven’t eaten much. i’ve lost a lot of weight & it’s because of fear and anxiety. i feel like im losing control of everything, including my day to day activities.
@toniysidra I feel you, I just recently managed to improve and now during the last week it has been nothing but bad days. I keep falling deeper and deeper and can’t seem to keep control of anything, specially my studies. Best of luck, we’ll make it.
yes, it's because of high levels of anxiety, I get this too and it's really bad sometimes I even lose a lot of weigh because of it, not really cool since you can get sick from it. You are not alone
@Viny Thanks for the insight. When you get ill from it, how does it feel like? I suspect I may currently be feeling sick due to the weight loss but my mind tells me that I’m just making it up. 😅
@liaypablo - when I get ill from it, I feel dizzy, weak and sometimes depending on how severe I want to vomit, though the vomit stuff is more due to the high anxiety I'm feeling in the moment, but usually is lack of energy, and please eat something your body becomes way more succeptible to diesease when it's malnurished.

Lately I have been struggling with binge eating in an odd way I haven’t experienced before. I have been eating a bunch more each night because “it could be my last meal” and I’m not sure how to break the cycle. I’m not hungry, but I force myself because my brain is telling me I’ll never get to experience that again. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
Does any one else struggle with eating when on a ocd spiral ( that’s what I call them ) I go through periods where I can’t stand the feeling of food in my body but idk I smoke weed and that helps the thought to go purge everything I don’t know if that’s my ocd or a eating disorder 🫠
I’m trying to get in with therapy right now, but I’m most concerned on having issues with not eating. Intrusive thoughts and anxiety make me nauseous and distracted from eating. It took me an hour last night to eat instant ramen. Does anyone know what I could do about this? I’m only eating around 1 meal a day and I’m afraid of how this could affect me medically.
