I come on here and I see everyone’s situation with OCD and I feel so bad for everyone dealing with this because I know like people don’t deserve this but I feel like if you guys were to know about my actual situation you guys are probably tell me I’m doing this to myself because I feel like I’m definitely the exception Here like it’s getting into a poem. I’m just like I don’t think OCD gets this realistic.
We're often harsher to ourselves than we are to others. I'm sure that if you shared any details about your situation or whatever is causing you pain, no one would judge you. OCD thrives on doubt, it wants you to continue doubting yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself

@andrea_sam730 many people on this site (and people with OCD in general) have experienced intrusive thoughts or obsessions so intensely that it feels like you've done something wrong. that is the nature of OCD. It is absolutely terrifying so I know exactly how you're feeling. it is sometimes scarier to even consider the possibility of it being true. It's a discomfort that we all suffer from, but just know you are not alone and whatever you are dealing with, there are probably several people here that have dealt with the same thing. 🫂🫂🫂❤️🩹❤️🩹
@moon027097 Thank you so much love. You’re super nice to be honest like for me. I feel like mine is just so bad like whenever I’m doing an action like if I’m already moving I feel like I’m moving in response to my intrusive thought and in the moment it felt like I was focusing on the thought as well and I always immediately panic like this cycle Happens like once in a while and I never know when it will happen because the intrusive thoughts just literally pop up out of nowhere:/ so I’m really trying to deal with the discomfort but it’s so hard. I mean the last time it happened to me I kind of picked up on the pattern and that’s why I wasn’t like panicking as much but it’s still scary.
I know this won’t make the doubts go away but literally everyone with OCD feels like they are the exception, including me. The truth is you aren’t a terrible human being you’re just a person with really bad OCD. I know it doesn’t seem that way but it’s true. There’s a reason OCD is listed as one of the worst mental disorders. If it didn’t feel so real it wouldn’t be a mental illness. It will throw anything and everything it can at you to make you stay in the cycle of rumination, including false urges and having thoughts and feelings that seem like your own. That’s a common part of OCD, it just isn’t discussed as much. Also, I experience a lot of the same things as you, so you aren’t alone. There have been times I’m walking and I see someone and I feel my body move towards them and I feel my mind shift as if I became a dangerous person for a split second and was going to do something bad to them, I’ve had times where I deliberately thought certain thoughts and without anxiety during actions (Also part of OCD), I’ve read stories about many people who had thoughts during actions too, creating the illusion that they acted on their thoughts. Someone even said it felt like an alien force took over them for a split second and made them act on their intrusive thoughts in small ways. I’m only telling you all of that so you know you aren’t the only one who feels this way. It’s all part of OCD. You have to remember this disorder completely warps your perception. You haven’t changed as a person, you are just deep in the disorder. But try to keep in mind that you don’t need to go back and forth with your mind. You don’t owe your OCD an explanation on why you have these thoughts. That’s what it wants. Try really hard to not give in. It won’t be easy at first but it’s the only way to recover. You have to teach your brain that these thoughts aren’t important. I’m sending lots of strength and light your way 🖤
@andrewt_ Thank you so much like I’m glad that you can relate because it’s honestly such a horrible feeling. I don’t know if my OCD is manifesting in a different way because like I’ve got into a point where like I can have thoughts in my head 24 seven it doesn’t really bother me, but it’s more about my actions that I fear about the most now :( like whenever I’m already doing an action and I get a thought I feel like I’m moving in response to that thought :/

@andrea_sam730 I’ve experienced the exact same thing as you where I will move in response to the thought and it’s terrifying. But you have to treat unwanted movements the same way you treat intrusive thoughts. It’s just another flavor of OCD, trust me. I used to always move in response to thoughts. When I stopped attaching importance to it, it stopped happening. Many people have experienced this. It’s not a reflection of who you are as a person. Besides no one just has movements to things they are attracted to, I’m not trying to reassure you, it’s just important to ground yourself sometimes you know? This is part of OCD. Movements can happen for a million different reasons, even if you are doing them on purpose. There could be so many reasons but you don’t need to figure out why. There is a major relationship between body and mind, they play off of each other and your OCD is latching onto this. Try yours best to redirect your attention away from these movements. The more you do it the easier it will get to detach from them. I’m always around if you need to talk, I feel like I relate to you a lot when it comes to OCD and I’m so sorry you’re struggling with this stuff I know it’s fucking brutal

I feel like I'm not ocd enough to deserve treatment . I don't feel as bad as other people do.
If you are anything like me (and most of you are, because let’s face it, we are all on this chat), you have OCD. Real OCD, not the organisation, matching colours everyone thinks it is. Real OCD. I’ve always known I was different, known that my brain does some waking things and deep down, I’ve always known I’ve had OCD. But there is just something that changes when you finally get the diagnosis. It makes more sense, you have an explanation for your behaviours. So naturally I told my friends. When they ask why I had to stop and step four times on a tile I said ‘oh, I have OCD’. I finally had a word, a tangible concept that I could explain to people. But nobody warned me about the massive misconceptions about OCD. Instead of support or acceptance, my friends seemed to question the diagnosis saying ‘that’s not ocd, don’t you just like things organised?’. And no matter how much I explain it they don’t seem to get it. And that’s the part that feels so cruel. I go through hell in my head and it can all be reduced to a phrase of ‘oh, aren’t you organised’. So please be careful out there you guys, and if someone try’s to downplay your experience, know that you are valid and that what you are going through is probably something that they could never handle. It’s a lesson that took me time to learn, but it’s important because our experience matters. Our real experience.
Sometimes I feel like nobody really gets me. Nobody knows what’s going on in my head. I try to explain in vivid detail, but my ocd immediately reads the other persons face and registers that they don’t get it. It’s a very isolating experience. Anyone else have something like this?
