Is the following happening to anyone else? - that a certain facial expression of a person to whom ocd is attached causes a lot of thoughts that are connected to that facial expression, and that the images in your head are very detailed, and that they have a voice, say, and that you have a feeling of some kind of crawling from the groin all over your body?
I have that too, it's exhausting

@Anonimus ME🫥 I am not in therapy at the moment, but this is the biggest relapse I've had in over 10 years and it's absolutely related to huge stress at work due to changes that have triggered my stress and my anxiety. I have battled and conquered ocd in the past, so I am doing erp and taking my medication. It's not working much, but the stress is not likely to go away soon, so I guess I'm just going to go on live my life trying to manage it like I have always had. Unfortunately Ocd is chronic, so relapses are likely to occur. I am now in the phase where I don't even have any groinals anymore, but the intrusive images won't go away and you go what the hell, but that's what it is. Train your brain NOT to be scared of what triggers you. It takes a lot of time, and practice, but I can tell you that it works.
@Anonymous uh thanks, it's me I've only had erp for 3 months, medication for about 7 months, but as you say, I've never had a bigger relapse than the last 3 years. Literally everything was terribly real. I thought that with therapy it will disappear faster, but I can see that it won't... I'm always scared of that feeling of reality, and I always get stuck there, with those feelings
@Anonimus ME🫥 I had a minor relapse in 2022, the first in over 8 years, and since December 2023 I've been dealing with this major one, which by the way is the worst I've ever had. But you see, I'm 52, I've had Ocd basically since childhood. In the last 6 years I lost my mom to cancer, then my dad got dementia then covid, after covid my dad also passed away. I had bad changes at work and only in summer 2022 things got slightly better.. Then I entered premenopause and those final stress at work.. I guess it had to happen, the relapse I mean. Hang in there too.
@Anonymous uh...and I have since my childhood since my father's death, first there was health, then illness, then I took these taboo things, then they calmed down a bit around the age of 22, then it came back around the age of 28, so I connected everything to stress myself, but in 2022, when I she was 34. she had a terrible relapse, and that's when I actually had nice things...and now, I'm planning to family, and this is destroying me...those feelings, those pictures destroyed everything...thank you very much for your support, take care, and if you need to talk, write to me...❤️
@Anonimus ME🫥 Likewise, thank you for your support too. I had a major episode when I was in my late twenties, following some traumas obviously. But then I had a big one when I was 40 and my husband and me were just about to move into the house we'd bought, so it was a good time, but also stressful. The issue with ocd are the stressing factors, I reckon, at least in my experience, that they play a big role. A hug from Italy (I am not American)
I also used to have health as a child, then magical thinking, then soocd, rocd and now rocd and socd along with just right ocd which is my main ocd type. It sucks!!!!
@Anonymous yes..but somehow they were all easier for me, than those related to children and sister..it's hard for me to overcome that.. Thank you and I send from Croatia, I'm not American either :)
sexualizing the person my ocd is hooked on bothers me a lot! it doesn't matter if I see the picture, live, facial grimaces, movements... and the groin starts instantly... I somehow cope with thoughts, but with those feelings...very difficult? any advice? any similar experience?
So with my theme of ocd, ( hocd ) I get persistent intrusive images, and thoughts. It’s not like one or two a day. Like if I’m out for the whole day they’re constant. I feel I can’t even look at a girl now without her intrusive thoughts about her or about me fancying her and even sexual intrusive thoughts.. It’s awful. It’s everywhere I look. Is this common with ocd with any themes? Like is it constant for you guys too?
