@RadiantlyRedeemed How did you get your parents to let you be baptized again? I’m thinking of doing it all by myself secretly next week after church this Sunday. I just feel like I really need it.

@🎀🧸🩷🤍 Well quite frankly, it wasn’t in anyway their decision. It’s my relationship with God and the obedience I felt I owed to God to get baptised. You can discuss it with them and inform them of your decision in respect, but I personally don’t think you must ask their permission. It’s all between you and God

@RadiantlyRedeemed Btw my parents were supportive of my decision. I broke down listening to “I Will Rise” and that’s when I knew the time had finally come to be baptised. They were there and the supported me during that time

@RadiantlyRedeemed 1 Corinthians 7:14 and Acts 2:39 are often used in favor of infant baptism. 1 Corinthians 7:14 suggests that an unbelieving family member can be saved by a believing family member, which is true! But that is not supporting infant baptism, it refers to the spiritual influence in a home that can guide one to Christ itself. Acts 2:39 really only says “for the promise is for you and your children..” but there’s a lot more to that verse. Acts 2:38 is important as it goes along with Acts 2:39. Acts 2:38-39 reads, “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.’” The first word Peter says here is “Repent” something that an infant cannot do…

@RadiantlyRedeemed Another argument in favor of infant baptism is allusion to Abraham and the covenant established to his descendants via circumcision. However, this was something only the males would do and it was still a spiritual covenant established. The physical seed was not saved it was the spiritual seed that was saved. Regardless, 1 Corinthians 11:25 states, ““In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’” This is said by Jesus when giving the Lord’s supper.

@RadiantlyRedeemed All of this to say baptism is a profession of faith that a believer does after repentance. Mark 16:16 says “Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved.” A baby can certainly be dedicated to be raised in church, but a baby is too young to grasp belief. It is not a bad thing you wish to be baptised.

@🎀🧸🩷🤍 What do you mean? Like as in your anxiety in approaching her? I’d say pray about it. I will pray about it with you. I know this is scary but if you’ve been thinking about it for a while and you feel that tug on your heart, it may very well be God’s pull to get baptized. Romans 8:31-33 says “31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be[a] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.” If this is God’s will for you, nothing can keep it from happening.
