Does anyone else have staring OCD (where you’re afraid of looking at someone too long or inappropriately for example) and then also POCD and social anxiety and all of these three combined and then also moral OCD…😕 Oh and also real event and a bit of ZOCD… the more I write the more themes come to my mind… Can anyone relate?
hey, i can relate to some of these. i'm also struggling with taboo themes, staring OCD and social anxiety. it's really difficult dealing with them but we'll get through this!🫶

@nyx32 honestly it's really hard for me to deal with them😭 i still engage in compulsions even if i know i shouldn't. but i'm trying to do it less and less each day. small steps are still progress. i try to remind myself that i am not my thoughts and the fact that i feel so worried and so unsettled by them means they don't reflect who i am. i'm sure the bad thoughts you experience don't reflect your true self🫶 to calm down a bit i try to engage in things i like, maybe drawing, playing a video game, watching a show i like and even going on a short walk. these have helped me feel a bit better and i hope they can be of help to you as well. stay strong!! better days will come😊💌
@sc4r Thank you for your support 🫶🏼 Yeah I also try to distract myself… but you know in those social moments where you feel like you can’t stop staring or acting awkward its so hard to stay calm… and it takes away my whole self confidence. What are your obsessions and compulsions? Mine are for example I’m afraid people will notice my pocd thoughts and see that I stare or act nervous and that my thoughts are obvious.

@nyx32 oh yeah i can relate to that so much. it feels like whatever i do is so unnatural compared to other people😭 even the smallest social interaction or just existing in public feels humiliating sometimes. i also feel like people can read my intrusive thoughts sometimes and i really struggle being around my friends since i can't tell them what's going on in my mind and i feel guilty that they are hanging out with such a disgusting person. right now i'm obsessing over the lack of reactions i have to my OCD sometimes. i feel guilty for the people my OCD has latched onto and i tend to avoid them or limit any interaction. i can't even look in their direction sometimes. im struggling with reassurance seeking, confessing, ruminating and searching every single thing online💔 its hard trying to stop myself from doing these but i know i have to for my own good. i know it must be so hard for you dealing with everything but don't listen to the bad things your brain is telling you. sometimes you have to do the opposite of your compulsions. for example, even if you feel extremely nervous dont try to look away. even if it only lasts for a few seconds and you end up engaging in that compulsion again that is still progress!! take it step by step and each day you will see improvement😊
@sc4r I feel you!! I also feel like people can tell what I’m thinking. There are various social moments that feel threatening to me, for example making eye contact with a mother who’s with her child, or talking to a couple and feeling awkward with the girl’s boyfriend as my thoughts go don’t look at him now look at him shortly now look away or otherwise it might come across as if you wanna steal her boyfriend… And so many more moments… but those two are big ones

@nyx32 i get it, it happens to me as well😔 but it's mostly in our mind, i'm sure the people around us don't even notice the things that we are so worried about. it's because we care this much that it happens, it's not a bad thing😊 through practice maybe we can get used to moments like this🫶
