That’s really, really awesome. Good luck. Tips? Set reasonable, achievable goals for yourself along side ones that feel more difficult. Your therapist will help you navigate which of your compulsions and triggers are easiest to tackle and move you forward but being mindful is the best way to keep momentum. It’s best to give yourself a lot of kindness and forgiveness so that you’re never discouraged and have the stamina to keep going.
My tip: don’t give up on it! Therapy often is tough in the beginning. I felt worse when I started before I started to feel better. Stick with it!!! It’ll help you find the light at the end of the tunnel ?
I agree! Also, I’m loving this thread of kaitlins!
Just good luck!!! You will do brilliantly!!! xxx
Tips:- *Don't become overwhelmed by the time. It will get better and better. *Keep it constant. If you take a very lengthy break, the things can reverse back. *Don't be hard on yourself. Do things at your own pace. *Follow different types of CBT to create a strong impact. Example:- Thoughts journal, checking beliefs, coping reminders, practicing mindfulness, taking action for sleep, exercise, relation, relation and work.
Is it ERP a subtype of CBT or just CBT? I don’t want to be a Debby downer, but Plain CBT is a highly ineffective form of treatment for OCD. To get better, it MUST be ERP from an OCD specialist therapist.
Hello. I’m new. I’m going to therapy tomorrow and we’re gonna start CBT soon. I’m really scared and I don’t want to open up cause I don’t want to say all of it. I’m a bad person
