Hi! I’ve been suffering from hocd since high school. I know how awful it is. My best advice is when you have those thoughts just don’t even acknowledge them. So when I get a groinal response or something else my compulsion is to tell myself that I like boys, but then the cycle continues. If I just ignore it and don’t do anything the hocd starts to go away. So when you think “Oh I like her” just let it pass by. Another piece of advice that helps me is I always tell myself “Even if I was gay/bi I don’t have to act on it.” That helps me take control of my life and realize that this is not the truth

I am thankful I am not the only when dealing with this type of thoughts. I am going to start saying that as well. I guess it’s just the feeling I get when I say “even if I were bi I won’t act on it” it still causes anxiety but I will just let the discomfort be there. For some reason I bring up the worst thoughts I have because I feel like I need to say something bad/ inappropriate and I feel like that is a type of compulsion too so it would be good to break this cycle. Thank you so much for your input

@sofiaguerrrero Of course! You are not alone, there are tons of people on here that are experiencing the same thing. I know that deep down I am straight and that I will end up with a man and I want to end up with a man. OCD is the doubters disease and attacks what’s most important to you

@Madeline Exactly!!! Like I have a boyfriend and have been with him for over a year and stuff so I will just let this pass by. Because in some way it affects my relationship with him and stuff

@sofiaguerrrero I’m so sorry! One way I know for sure is how much I cry over my ex boyfriend lol ? but also people are gay don’t have anxiety about being gay. I’m also religious and sometimes I pray every night to end up with a man. I beg God please let me marry a man.
