an iq test is just a test. thoughts are just thoughts they determine nothing. so what if pedos have low iqs? some doctors take advantage of children and they have high iq’s. if it does it does, but now is not the time to focus on it

Thanks for saying that, I suppose that is true. It’s just really tough because it’s so hard not to use it as “proof” that my fears are real since I saw it in that article. I’m just gonna wait for the anxiety to pass so I can think more clearly.

Have you heard of a non sequitur? It basically means one does not equate the other. I’m sorry you’re going through this but a low IQ doesn’t correlate to being a pedophile. Desiring and completing sexual interactions with children makes someone a pedophile. You’re definitely reassurance seeking when you searched that and scared the shit out of yourself. There are plenty of pedophiles with high IQs.

Thanks for saying that. Yeah, I was kinda bummed to have a low IQ because it means I’m not that intelligent but what really bothered me was that it could indicate some being a p*do or being antisocial/sociopath. I’m just gonna take some time to cool down.

1. Accurate IQ tests are not available online. 2. You're male right? Most murderers are male. Therefore you're probably a murderer? No. Logic fail.

That’s true actually, thanks!

The test I did had 30 questions and they were all about identifying patterns/sequences. Idk if that’s the only IQ tests measure but I had to pay $10 so I thought it was legit.

IQ tests which measure accurately have many hundreds of questions and types of questions, which include verbal and non verbal reasoning. That means they test whether you understand sentences fully, including nuance, and can follow them logically, plus things like sequenced patterns to see if you can identify trends. Tests are designed to also check how many difference pieces of information you can hold in your mind and reason with at one time (by making some questions more complex), and how quickly you can work out answers (by including a time limit). Please don't pay money for any more 'IQ tests', and you may want to attempt to get a refund. They probably toted it in small-print as being 'part' of an IQ test. Unfortunately useless on its own.

@Scoggy **several types of questions

Mensa offers an "IQ workout" on their site which shows a little more the sort of range of questions in a real test, but again it only has 18 questions and it's emphasised that it doesn't measure IQ. It also might be skewed a little easy to encourage people to pay for certification at a testing centre, as I got full marks in three minutes and that's honestly a little silly. If it's a compulsion for you based on the article you read as opposed to curiosity then I wouldn't recommend even taking an academically recognised IQ test. And whilst IQ is a good statistical predictor of many things, it's still a little hamfisted to say that it actually measures intelligence per se.

@Scoggy Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I’m not feeling as anxious as I felt before and am thinking more clearly. I really appreciate your input, it really puts things into perspective :)
