There is a book called Brain Lock by Dr. Schwartz that goes into detail about 4 steps you can take to help change the way your brain works when you get caught up in OCD. It's only like 15$ on Amazon! I read it last week and highly recommend it!

I have dealt with a similar thing like that but it was to my mom, i always imagined sexual things with my mom, it may not sound like ur experience but trust me it was not fun at all. I Even thought i was in love with my own MOTHER. The way i Got through it was tell my mom and she told me that my thoughts arent real. You can go through this too.

Do you have any advice? I cannot tell my sibling, they are too young and it would obviously be inappropriate to share.

@ihatemyocd Are there any things you do that can put ur mind away from those thoughts? You can work with, but you also need to accept the fact that those are only THOUGHTS What you May think is ”What If” Theres no What If because If you would like to have those thoughts you would not worry. But dont try to «leave» the thoughts because they will get bigger, stay with them til they notice that you dont give a FUCK anymore, i promise you it will get better.

@Vlera ibraj I have to ask, are you able to interact with your mother normally now? I can't imagine I'll ever be able to look at my sibling the same way again.

@Vlera ibraj Okay, thank you. Do you have any other more specific advice? I feel like a monster for even being capable of imagining these things. I am sorry you're going through harm ocd with your mother. I can tell you love her very much.

@ihatemyocd The fact that your terrified of acting on those thoughts of a family member means you never will be. It's just how OCD works, it takes your worst fears and makes you believe that you can actually be capable of acting on them or feeling them as if they're real. Just relax, watch a movie, play video games, hang out with friends or just go outside and take a run. I know it’s hard but If other people overcame this that means you can too. Keep reminding urself that ur not a horrible person because of these thoughts cause If you were these thoughts wouldn’t bother you so much. And try to not say to urself ”What If” there is no What If. I’m sorry If this is not enough help but If i Find other advices i will tell you, stay strong.
