I think the max you can take is 200! My mom takes like 75, I know people who take 100 and 150! I’m thinking I’ll want to be at 100. Like I feel better right now if I could just be like a little bit better, that would be the best lol

I did feel tired on Zoloft... I chalked it up to my sleep schedule but could have been a contributing factor. Sorry bud. I would mention to psychiatrist when you see her/him again. Do you prefer the sleepiness or the thoughts? Because that could be worth considering. If you cant stand being tired that would probably be good to bring up too. Good luck💛💛💛

I prefer sleeping to intrusive thoughts for sure, but I wish I didnt have to sleep to not have them you know? Maybe its just a phase of the medication. Ill definitely bring it up to my therapist tomorrow.

Yes I noticed being tired as well. I’m going on week 4 and today is the best I’ve felt in a long while.

@luchalysol Zoloft as well. Started with half a pill for a week (25mg) and then upped to full pill (50mg). So I’ve been on it for a total of 3 weeks. 2 weeks full dose. Hoping I just continue to see improvements!!! How much are you taking?

@Freemeofocd Super happy you're seeing improvements! Hoping you see more and more progress! I started with 50mg 2 weeks ago

Its possible that it might be a start up side effect and could possibly get better as your body gets used to the medication.

Im hoping so. Thank you! Are you taking any medication?

@luchalysol I started Zoloft recently as well and it did make me a bit tired here and there with some brain fog. Its lessened though. I also have some weird tingling feelings that come and go when Ive upped the dose.

@Ladyoftheleaves22 Yes! Thats how I feel right now. Just tired and foggy. How long have you been taking it?
- Date posted

@luchalysol Ive been on it for like a month or so, but i started at a super low dose with the liquid Zoloft so I could increase slowly. Im super sensitive to meds and am really nervous about taking them so this has helped me reduce side effects. But i did feel tired/foggy for a few days a couple weeks after I started.

@Ladyoftheleaves22 I did read they offer liquid versions, whats your dose right now?

@luchalysol Its def helpful. Im at 30mg now. And i increase it by a couple mg every day or every other day. Its helped me continue taking it. I hope the zoloft works for you!

@Ladyoftheleaves22 Awesome! I wonder what the final dose is. It seems to have helped so far but its too soon to know.

@luchalysol Oh i know! I wonder too. Whatever dose helps the best I guess! Here we are accepting uncertainty 😁

@Ladyoftheleaves22 Yes! I just dont have the energy to engage with ocd right now which I guess is good. But then I get a bit anxious over not being anxious enough. But not like I used to.

@luchalysol Ugh this happens to me too! I literally just posted about this earlier. OCD attacks even the positive moments. Im sending good vibes you way and hopinf that it works out for you.

@Ladyoftheleaves22 I have this in literally every positive moment I have. Or if ocd forgets about me for a moment and I notice, in come the thoughts again. Its a horrible illness but hopefully it gets better with time, treatment, and meds.

@Ladyoftheleaves22 Yes, gotta try whatever I can to help. Ill be ending my therapy through nocd soon so I wanna keep working on it with some self help books. Ill be turning my focus on treating my ptsd while reading the book.

@luchalysol How do you like the therapy through nocd? Have you found it helpful?? I start on the 22nd. Also, new symptom of Zoloft I’m discovering is actually the opposite of drowsiness. I’m noticing I’m wired come the evening time 😳 usually never have an issue sleeping. Heard that’s a common side effect and I’m just now starting to experience it

@Freemeofocd I liked it, I plan on continuing but after I go to therapy for my ptsd since ocd tends to piggy back on that. I can only afford one at a time. So I wanna do the workbook while I do the other therapy to essentially treat both at the same time. Im still in the tired phase of Zoloft. I dont have as much energy to engage with ocd which I guess is a good thing. Im always sleepy. Probably the body goes through phases of getting used to the medication

For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !

Hi everyone, I’m new to the community. I was diagnosed with OCD just a couple of months ago and have been doing some reading and other research to try and understand the disorder. With this, I have been actively seeing a great therapist who has been helpful to build tools to deal with my intrusive thoughts ( contamination OCD is my worst theme). Do help learn to deal with the compulsions, I start on Sertraline or “Zoloft” I believe since November 2024. Currently I’m on 50mg and have been doing this for just over a month. My question for those who are also taking Sertraline and it has been successful, how do you know it has really provided a benefit and how long did it take to get there? I sometimes feel the medication works, and sometimes I feel it doesn’t (maybe that’s my OCD trying to mess with things). Thanks!
