I am sorry that you are struggling. I understand because I have a very similar experience. I am constantly questioning “what” I feel and it makes me question whether I can ever have a relationship with out the fear and doubt. In my experience I need to identify that thought as soon as possible and then immediately feel it and let it go. The longer it takes for me to let it go the “stickier” it seems to get. For me, when I have an intrusive thought I force myself to take a deep breath and then let the feeling sit and then go as I exhale. Maybe that will help. Good luck!!

I’m not even sure if it’s ocd or if my real feelings are coming out and I just need to face the fact I don’t love him?

@ahazlett An OCD therapist once told me that if the thought is intrusive (unwanted) then it is most likely OCD. Maybe you can see if you can let it go and reduce the anxiety. If that is the case then it’s probably OCD.

@M All my mind keeps telling me is that the only way to stop feeling this way is to get out of this relationship even tho I love him and I’m so happy when I’m not anxious. I just want this to stop.

@ahazlett I understand. You are not alone. I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY AS I AM TYPING THIS. Often I will remind myself that my anxiety is being caused by my brain that is trying to control reality to avoid fear. It is our brain playing tricks on us. It may help to go for a walk or do some deep breathing exercises. Have you heard of box breathing? Google it to see if it is something that might interest you. I also find that reading books related to awareness and consciousness can really help. I like authors such as Anthony de Mello, Michael Singer, and E. Tolle. Also, if you can get in with a therapist on this app it really helps!! And reach out as necessary. Always happy to help.

@M I feel like I’m not listening to myself and what I need. How can I be sure it’s ocd and not just my true feelings that I’m avoiding?
