From what my nocd therapist told me smoking can be a huge trigger because it can make you feel like you’re out of control, especially one or two days after!! i’m not an expert and every case is different, but i did experience a ton of anxiety after smoking for a while and i told her and that’s what she told me

Thank you, what do I do if I like smoking now? Like it sometimes chills me out

It probably totally depends on how you react to it! Personally I have proven to myself on multiple occasions (still have yet to learn) that marijuana is not for me. it could be that you have no negative reaction to it, but i think it’s important to weigh out the pros and cons. maybe observe how you feel if you go a while with out it??

@pep13 My therapist said something that really resonated with me today. She said “sometimes people feel like they’re distant from god, and in this case you feel as if you’re distant from your boyfriend” so then she asked me “if your boyfriend is still the same person who you were in love with, then who moved, you or him?” and i answered: “me” and then she goes: “did you want to move away from him??” i said: “no” and then she said: “your mental illness is making you do things that the REAL YOU doesn’t want” ... and she’s so right!! i have to remeber that i have been diagnosed by an ocd professional with a mental illness that makes me question the things that are important to the real me. sooo we’re working from separating ocd from myself so i can get back to my true self. maybe ask yourself that same question!! i hope this helps

@Anonymous pure ocd is “invisible” but it is so so real and we have to do the work to try to get back to our old selves. you could try to write a list of things that the real you wants (it’s so hard— i know, i know, i know!!!)

@Anonymous My mother always told me that if something effects me this much and makes me this anixous that shows you care & want them, that I have to learn the difference from my thoughts & feelings
