No I want to but I don’t want my family to know cause they won’t understand what places my mind takes me

could you explain it in a way to where you don’t need to get very detailed?

That’s totally understandable! Maybe talk to them and start talking about anxiety? You don’t need to tell them everything if you don’t want to! Perhaps they’ll actually be extremely supportive

@acereal Yeah I’ve had this for 7 years ever since I was in primary school I mean I try to tolerate it I’ll see because we have a good relationship and they’re supportive

I obsess over themes, numbers such as 3, 5, 8 and more. I hate the numbers 9, 2, 4 and more with the passion and I can’t explain why. I have to re-think and re-watch a lot of things wheather it be on tv or anything else. I have excessive rituals everyday involving food like specific times to eat. I need to eat the right amount of snacks and get anxious every morning just thinking about what I need to eat. I’m not really a tidy person I mean I am sometimes people like my mum and sister think ocd is just being tidy what has society put in their heads.

I understand what you mean. If you have the means, there’s a book called “coping with OCD” by Bruce Hyman and theres a chapter at the end which is meant for your loved ones to read. It explains OCD in a totally different way. Perhaps that’s something you could use? If you can afford to buy the book that is

Sitting with anxiety IS really hard. So important to have some support. Even a therapist.

I mean can the truma to trigger this be my brain injury as a child?? It could but that was years ago

I’ve seen a therapist for some things I told them how food gives me anxiety but never told them about this or anyone a part from the people on the app

Possibly, however, often, to get better you really do not need to know the cause.....OCD has no known cause in general but seems to run in families.

Idk if anyone has it in my family no one speaks of it but I’ve spoke to one person and they said it could be a trigger

I do not have this symptom, however, it is not just you. Many people talk about having this compulsion.

Yeah my sister sometimes has that she has a little ocd she says. I try to know avoid this compulsion because it becomes very repetitive

Compulsions I deal with are reassurance seeking, ruminating, and looking for approval. Also buying and giving people candy that looks like money.

I always seek reassurance that’s one of my complusions but that’s not as much as my others. I do this cause I don’t wanna be embarrass and anxious if I do the wron thing
