Haven’t recovered, am in the same boat as you. Convinced that I might do it/want to do it but I don’t want to do it. It drives me crazy and I don’t know how much more I can take. Which is an intrusive thought in itself but still agonising.

Rule 1: don't seek validation for these thoughts. Rule 2.... time laugh at these thoughts ....do you remeber the nursery rhymes "here we go round the mulberry bush" well that what happens when we allow ourselves to be consumed by these thought. You may have set backs with your recovery. That does not mean you cannot grow and continue get well and live a life free of exessive attachment to unhelpful thoughts. Noting is ever static not even our emotions... you probably know this already... however until we put these principles into practice change and healing cannot begin. This is a perfect opportunity to do/trythis. Rule 3 if you are feeling suicidal and need support phone a helpline, or speak to your Dr (you do not have to go on or take meds if thats not what want - ask your for Dr to be referred to CBT/ DBT counciling, and if you live in the UK and its available as part of treatment offered from your NHS mental health Trust, ask if possible to get exposure therapy? For CBT and or DBT. If this not available there are numerous recourse online. Rule 4 : notice this disease is a blessing disguise as you my friend are have developed a level and understanding and a prospective on the human human psyche that you might have not had before - your development and attachment to unhelpful thinking thag has enabled you possibly to develope a deeper level of empathy for others...which may not had without experience dancing with this devil (metaphorically of course). I think it time self-care don't you? Even if you cannot do the above you are enough as are breathing and focusing the breathing a pritty good start. #lovingthyselfdoesnotmakeyouanarc #theoppositemay #ascheralcolesays #northenlassiebanter #comegurlllssssbecauseweareworthit ❤️❤️❤️

A28 makes a good point. Don’t give your thoughts more power. If you have a bad thought, instead of dwelling, laugh about it and let it go/ignore it. Seeking validation is something we are kind of told to do, but in reality it can be a weird cycle of catastrophizing our anxieties more and more.

The only place validation belongs is when we presenting argument or point view when and looking for others to understand point conversations or even when in a debate. Leave that stuff to politicians in parliament.... #timetogetabrexitformythoughts/thinking #rationalmidefiltersthedistortedthinking #ittheenemaformybrain
