Can you look up an ocd specialist in your area and just ask for a consultation/proper diagnosis? If she’s willing to do that, you have a better chance of getting through to her. Also: I haven’t watched it, but I hear the tv show Pure is about pure o and pretty good. Maybe you could watch it together? If she sees some representation in the media, she’ll be more open to it being “real.” The problem is that ocd is so rarely understood by the general public. But it’s definitely real and very understood here. There are support groups for ocd sufferers and families. Eventually if you could get her to attend something like that, maybe she could see what a support family is supposed to act like. And stop gaslighting you. I’m so sorry she’s being this way to you. It’s definitely not fair. And you should stop telling her about your specific intrusive thoughts and obsessions. She’s not a safe person to open up to about them.

@pureolife Thank you for your help. She's not a very understanding person. I tried my hardest to ask for help I even sent the link to the NOCD page for her to read it and maybe understand it but she won't. I would try to get help but my mom scared me not to do it

@Staystrong❤ If you’re old enough to get help on your own you should. If not: plan to get it as soon as you are. The sooner you learn to manage this the better. Especially for young people with so much to look forward to.

@Staystrong❤ You are perfectly normal for someone with ocd. Everything you describe is typical and expected for this disorder. And luckily this disorder is very treatable if you can find an ocd specialist.
