You’re a terrible person for not knowing someone lied about their age?

no because i questioned if he was lying but chose to believe him, i feel like i should’ve just blocked him the moment i had the doubt

@cherryCAKE Well, it happens. That's kinda like perfectionism, because you feel guilty that you should've realized earlier but actually maybe even a normal person will never realize that. The fact is, it happens to me too things that normal people will take as just normal I'll take it as I wasn't good enough or I should've done this done that and looking down upon oneself, it's really horrible and we have to do something. First of all don't keep blaming yourself for most things just relax the fault is sometimes from the others or people around you.

It's not your fault. Someone just told me the exact same thing that happened to them. You were skeptical but you put your trust on him. It isn't your fault. He shouldn't be lying about his age. You backed away once you found out how old he was and you felt guilty which makes you a good person. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Yes, that's it. Take it easy on yourself, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be a little hard on yourself. I sometimes go hard on myself to be a better person or do the best next time but I know it's me and myself, I know the consequences so I don't have to feel bad about myself or complaing to others about it.

@divine47 i feel like ocd always magnified the mistakes i make and makes them seem worse than what they are so it’s really hard to see it from another perspective but i do understand it’s not entirely my fault and i shouldn’t be so hard on myself, thank you for the advice!
