You are not alone. OCD is so hard. I understand what you are saying. It can definitely feel like OCD is taking over at times. We are here for you.
Thank you so much
I am in the same boat as you!
It’s a nightmare.
Omg! Literally in the same boat! I told myself one day I’m not doing ocd anymore and it just did the complete opposite and now even if I do my rituals my ocd still go against me. Whatever I’m obsessed with won’t go away and now I’m depressed and all I do is think. I live in my own head. I don’t even recognize myself in the mirror. I am scared
Took the words right out of my mouth.
OCD can be so incredibly exhausting. Just know you are not alone. There is help and support! Do you have access to an OCD specialist? I would highly encourage ERP therapy. It gave me my life back. We’re hear for you. If you ever have any questions about my OCD journey please don’t hesitate to ask.
Hi thank you so much. Can you please share more about your ROCD and how ERP specifically helped you? I’m wondering how the erp would work if my trigger is a person. Ugh
@Anonymous1 Absolutely. My ROCD had to do with constantly asking for reassurance from my boyfriend. We would have a simple disagreement and I would assume he didn’t love me anymore and wanted to break up. I was constantly asking if we were “ok” I would also obsess over text messages to make sure we sounded like a healthy couple and would get angry and worried if he wasn’t texting me all the time. It actually ended our relationship for a while until I got help. Through ERP part of my homework was going a certain amount of time without talking//texting. We also had to go a certain amount of time without kissing or physical touch. I also would delete my texts so I couldn’t obsessively read them. All these in little bite size steps at first until I could work up to more. It made me learn that my thoughts weren’t true and that my (now husband) was worth the risk and uncertainty. Hope this helps you! Let me know if you have any other questions.
How old are you? I’m 23
32
Do you suffer from deperssion at all?
Yes I do. I think i have suffered for many years and ignored everything until now. The more I learn, the more I see that I have been a victim of ocd since my teens. I always thought I was just “like that” and if I did certain things my life would get better. Well, life got harder, ignored ocd and ocd got worse. So here we are, i am ready to recover.
