Same shit happened to me. But not ROCD, just OCD. He was and still is my confessing person. I confess to him and dump on him all the time. We’re still best friends, but I think relationship wise, it was taking a huge toll on him. It gets better.

I feel like if I work on myself and I become a more independent person and find other people to also talk to about it we would be good together and I just hope he gives me another chance

I’m so sorry. What’s up, how can I help?

I think I ruined it. I was always needy and texting him every second of the day and put all this pressure on him to always text me goodnight (he works 13 hour days) and he told me he doesn’t have energy for a relationship anymore. I’m hoping I can just work on myself and be more independent and not need to talk to him every second of the day and go a day without talking to him we can get back together and he can give me another chance. We just went ling distance he broke up with me 2 wks into it

@Enna2 First, I am so sorry you are going through this. I know the pain. My heart goes out to you. Are you in therapy for OCD?

@NOCD Advocate - Charlee I’m not

@Enna2 The goal to become independent and better, should be to do i for yourself, not just for this relationship. Although it’s good that you want to, as long as it’s to maintain health for yourself first, then the relationship will follow. Not the other way around.

@Enna2 Would you say that maybe the anxious behaviors stemmed from OCD?
- Date posted

@NOCD Advocate - Charlee It definitely is for me because I want to be a more independent person and not rely on someone else for my happiness but I’m also hopeful that me changing and being the better version of myself will help us get back together

@Enna2 And I think wanting independence is a great first step. Learning how to be alone again is important for self stability. When I went through something similar with my boyfriend, I didn’t know where to start. So I moved out of his place, went back home and built myself up from the bottom up. I started working out, finding hobbies, a routine. And as a result, my relationship became SIGNIFICANTLY better and we got back together. I’m hoping the same for tou

@NOCD Advocate - Charlee You** you choose where to start, and you can ask him if there’s any way that you can prove to him in a certain time period that you can do it.

@NOCD Advocate - Charlee Omg that’s so encouraging to hear. We haven’t spoken in almost 2 weeks and it was just a quick eight minute phone call of a break up I’m trying to give him some space and prove to him that I can be without him. He did tell me the day after he broke up with me that we were could talk in a few days, that hasn’t happened but he works seven days a week so I’m assuming he hasn’t had a chance to process or maybe he has and he’s just stressed to have a conversation. How did you go about getting back together? I have been eating healthy and working out.

@Enna2 I also just moved to a new city 12 hours from him and 14 from all my family and friends so I have really had to rely on myself which I think is good for me

@Enna2 It actually took me like around a couple days of discussing with him firm plans of action for our relationship, and whether or not he trusted me and wanted to do it. I also had to prove to him along the way that I was committed to my word in the long haul, not just to get him back yano. We just kind of discussed our relationship and our goals over the past 4 days ish and then it sort of just got better from there.

@NOCD Advocate - Charlee Did you give him space before that? It’s been 2 weeks since he broke up with me and I haven’t reached out yet. I was gonna wait till after the new year (ugh) in hopes he’d reach out first
