Wish so bad this could be pinned. As someone who has been through recovery I resonate with everything you wrote and every point you make. It is so hard strolling through this feed and just knowing these people could be so much better with ERP.

Absolutely, I feel the same way everytime I scroll too. I came here under the recommendations of my therapist, as the ERP area is really good if I ever experience any relapses. As I scroll, I just see parts of my past self in everybody and it’s heartbreaking that these people haven’t found their breakthrough yet, but I hope they do.

I like number five a lot. I’m so tired of just getting by. I wanna live, not survive. It may take a while, but I’m trying slowly to work up to being able to live my life. I’ve gotta believe happiness is out there. Also I’m so happy you recovered! Do you have any advice in how to live life while in treatment?

Absolutely. Surviving is not living, and like I say, the little moments where you feel good should be cherished, but not used as evidence that you don’t require therapy. You know when you’re still in your obsession, and when you know, you have to act in the right way - which is getting ERP. Thank you! My only tips would be, expect to feel worse before things improve - know that your obsessions may worsen before they lessen!! Sending you my best wishes and thank you for the kind words
