Maybe you do believe? Jesus loves you. This is not from Him. Jesus is the total opposite. Love, Peace, Strength, and Humility and so much more

I do believe in a higher power, and it's really helped me through some tough times. I just don't conform to any particular religion. But I really do appreciate your comment and I'll speak to my therapist about the possibility that I do perhaps believe. 😊🙏💙

@Miss Lemon Just know that there is a God and Jesus gave his life for you and this is not how it’s supposed to be and you are not being punish. God didn’t send his son to condem us but to literally save us even though we are sinners. We are not perfect.

@NickD Thank you so much, ever since that first panic attack I've been terrified of God. I was convinced that I was the worst person in the world and totally unforgivable. That's when I stopped believing, because at that time I didn't know how else to cope. I'm 27 now and I wish more than anything to take away this guilt and constant fear.

@Miss Lemon Listen to me fear of the Lord is not this type of fear. God tell us over 400 times to be anxious for NOTHING. Rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus and give yourself a break. God knows we are not perfect and no God is not punishing or wants to punish us. He LOVES us unconditionally. He knows that we fall as he is slow to anger. I have similar thoughts and ocd will make You think that it’s God but it is NOT. Dear Heavenly Father I come to you with praise and thanksgiving and I ask that you put your miraculous healing hands upon this persons and all of us struggling with ocd and that you would clear up the fear and confusion in Jesus precious name. Just know that you’re not alone :)

OCD likes to feed on the "what if". You may not believe, but the "what if there is a G-d and He's mad?" Aspect might be playing with your mind. I was told by a Rabbi at one point that every little inconvenience was a punishment for something that you did, but are being punished in this world so you don't have to pay for it in the world to come (the Jewish concept of the afterlife). Now I seem to think everything bad that happens to me it a sign that I shouldn't be doing a certain thing. The world around you plays a part in what your OCD absorbs, and in this part of the world the Christian concept of G-d is everywhere.

Yes definitely! OCD doesn't discriminate when it comes to it's themes. I'm so sorry that you were told this by a Rabbi, I think a lot of people would have been able to shrug it off but our OCD brains are wired differently. And yes definitely your point about the 'What If' is a huge factor in OCD for sure!!
