What helps me is that when the thought comes Into to my head I try not to feel ashamed of it and say to myself. This is not something I want and this is not coming from my actual feelings. However true or not it is it helps me distract myself and I move on to something else physically. The partner thing is tricky but what can help is being vocal during sex and talking because it keeps the mind distracted a bit.

@starfire I am very sorry that you separated because of this. That definitely sounds like ROCD because those are the same symptoms I exhibit. Checking for partners flaws, comparing your partner to others, and worrying if you like someone else. You have been very supportive to him and that is great. I’m so sorry that he is in denial about it. As sometimes, those with OCD have a distorted reality and sometimes we can’t tell if those feelings or real or OCD. Because we BELIEVE them to be true. I am sorry because you seem very in love with this guy and somehow can’t figure out how to make it work.

My bf and I are religious. We dated for a few months But we only date for marriage. We are perfect for each other in every way but he has ocd which I’m able to support him with (I’m a psychology grad student and I adore him) but he’s in denial about r-ocd. He said he was longing and lusting over another girl he once went on a date with but she didn’t want to continue. And that he wants my help to date her again. He said if we were married he would be afraid he would want to cheat on me. And that since he thinks of other girls it must mean we are not meant to be. He also continued to compare me,as well as both his ex wives to women in dating sites for hours to fault find things he doesn’t like in his current partner. Or To check if he’s more attracted to someone else. This cost him 2 marriages already. But he’s still in Denial re r-ocd. I sent him the rocd app but he said he won’t use it bc cell phones give off magnetic field radiation and I sent some YouTubes ocd stories w dr. Guy Doron and questionnaires and he said that he doesn’t trust what I’m telling him bc I just want to get back together he still thinks he doesn’t have rocd. He wrote me saying how amazing I am. And how impossible it will be to replace my love. And how he’ll miss me. But hasn’t talked to me since. He took it very wrong that I mentioned rocd.
