@Justmesadly i too would like to hear suggestions from u..bcoz I'm doing ERP on my own without any guidance ,it will be nice to get suggestions . My theme is real event, Iam not confessing compulsively, I haven't confessed to many people too.but since u have a therapist, u might have some helpful tips for me.. 3yrs ago , when I was 16 I involved in sex chat with a stranger through a fake account.she was married , but fell for the beautifulman in my dp..it was a actors picture. I hide my identity and involved in sex chat with her..after some weeks , she found that the account was fake, I blocked her and never contacted her since..Also she had sent me her semi nude pics(without face) on my request..3months ago I got realisation on my mistake , I checked her fb..she seems like a happy person, enjoying life with family, chilling..but Iam stuck with OCD, thinking ,how bad my action was, how it effected her life, feelings like I don't deserve happiness,shame,guilt ,everything..I am ERP now..not responding to any thoughts..Earlier I did ERP for 3 days, anxiety went down.but soon I felt something empty inside me , back to the rumination , and I'm back in this OCD cycle again..shit

@Aeegon You have we met before? Because my situation is literally the same only it wasn't nudes, I didn't fake anything, and I was 17.

@Justmesadly Sorry, it's really hard to note what is or isn't a reassurance. I have trouble with that with compulsions too. But thanks for trying to come up with ERP exercises. I think you told me you suffer from real event. How do you do ERP?

@BigGip09 by saying,, u didn't fake anything..that's the only reason that I'm trapped with this OCD.if I haven't faked my identity, probably I would be normal like everyone else.

@Aeegon You were still young like I was. Maybe you just had low self esteem. Maybe you just felt insecure. You are normal. I didn't mean to offend you with that. I apologize. I wasn't trying to use it against you. My situation is just a little different that's all.

@BigGip09 1) let the thought/memory/feelings come,but u shouldnot respond to it.. initially it's difficult,u might get very anxious..but keep doing that 2)get exposed to ur fears Eg: if u have cheated someone in past..and now u think that u did a crime..then u should willingly read news of people doing the same action and getting arrested for (cheating,murderer etc..) it surely will trigger u , instead of responding to the anxiety ,u should let it come .avoid rumination during that exposure..let the anxiety reach its peak,without u ruminating .. 3) use each anxious situation as an exposure

My OCD tells me that I "MUST" die because one day I triggered it during an exposure, so it comes at me as a punishment, an order and things like that. Basically, what I wanted to tell you is: OCD can come however it wants to, it can come with a lot of details that are different for everyone, it can come even as a sound, etc. The only things that makes you understand who is OCD and who is you is the fact that OCD doesn't make you happy, it doesn't make you feel comfortable, because that's not who you are or what you want. Every time your OCD pops up, you always have the same reaction to it, don't you? But now you gotta change reaction, as anyone else, on purpose, knowing that OCD is OCD, and not you, you 2 are separated
