Hi my name is Sarah I'm so sorry to hear about this. I was like you my whole life I was fine until one day I had an intrusive thought about liking kids. I started in bed, I was googling and looking at pictures of kids to see if I got aroused but l I just felt anxiety and that groinal sensation you were talking about, I wanted to kill myself, but then I found out about POCD and it matched me exactly. I still worry and have intrusive thoughts though and it's an everyday struggle, and it seeps into other areas of my life. Like the above comment says, erp is the best therapy :) it's all about accepting the uncertainty, it v takes practice and im not perfect at it but its the only thing that really helps.. I've gotten so much better as a result and though I have bad days I also have good days! In addition, just so know that you know who you are deep down, this is just a result of our attachment to goodness and righteousness, and certainty. For some reason sexuality is such a common theme in people. So don't feel weird for it to be coming out of nowhere, that's how it was for me too! Truth always reveals itself with time, we don't have the power to figure things out in our head for everything we want to know even about our selves. Look up "ocd and anxiety" on YouTube it's a channel and also Paige Pradko. Welcome to the community :)
