Let me guess, you feel anxiety just when they text or talk to you and you feel like you don’t like them or something? I’m going through this right now when deep inside I know I care about them. It is extremely scary, anxiety inducing and so much more. Let me know if these sound similar to your feelings. I haven’t started my main therapy yet but I’m confident erp will work for this. OCD goes after the things we care about most.

I struggle with this. ROCD is so evil :(

@Anonymous It is but the more we work on it the better it’ll get. Their are so many success stories of people dealing with the same things as us.

Yeah, but not only that. I have gone as far as guestuoning all of my actions in my past towards my partner, looking over my memories to see If I wanted this relationship (though I did), and just simply never feeling fully at peace and certain, or romantic.

@lepore14 That's true but my mind is asking 'but maybe you are in a denial that's why you are trying to stay, just denying that you're not in love?'

I am going through the same thing 😕... it’s the ocd need for certainty. I guess we just have to sit with the doubt

Yeah but I am in a relationship and what if I am forcing it? It's would be bad so how long do I need to sit with it... (

@Daria Alexandrovna I worry about this too. A lot. The goal is to sit with the thought(s) until your anxiety subsides. Get out a notebook or open a Notes app on your phone when you’re triggered by something and want to do a compulsion (whether it be mental checking, reassurance seeking, ignoring the thought, etc.) Write down your anxiety level as soon as you’re triggered, and write down any thoughts you have. It will take a while, but as you sit with your thoughts, you’ll more than likely start to get bored of the thought and want to do something else. Keep writing down your anxiety levels and thoughts until your anxiety has been reduced by half. I hope this is helpful.

@Anonymous It's really cool though my anxiety level is usually more or less stable and my biggest issue is rumination

@Anonymous By reading the original post by @Daria Alexandrina it led me to your post about when the anxiety starts driven by thoughts and the want to start a complusion.. That's a really great suggestion about writing down your anxiety levels.. Can I ask if your sought treatment for your OCD.. My reason for asking is this suggestion seems like a professionals advice.. Are you or have you been receiving treatment for your OCD?? Is this something that you've been practising with you therapist?? I'm currently unable to start treatment with NOCD due to funds.. This sounds like a really good thing to try to try to combat the anxious feelings attached to the thoughts and need to complete complusions.. Many thanks Becks ❤️

Lately I’ve just been trying to take the urgency out. Do I want to do something about it right now? No. Then I try to move on. I have a semi constant hum of intrusive thoughts. But my compulsions aren’t as often.
