Hey guys. My name is Wyatt Stevenson. I have been struggling big time with Pure O OCD, and I have to say this has been the most difficult time of my life. I don’t think anything will ever be as difficult as this was for me. I was suicidal for a while because of it and yes I know that’s selfish but I feel so much guilt from the HOCD because I am deeply in love with my girlfriend. It sucks because I know my reality but it’s like this subconscious villain screwing with me all day. I’m getting better but this has completely ruined our romantic side of our relationship. We are stronger together than apart and this is hopefully just another challenge we can conquer. Any advice on how I can give my girlfriend peace even tho she is along for the HOCD ride? Please someone respond I have been struggling so much.

Hey Day513 thank you for your response. Have you dealt with HOCD before? I’m dealing with pretty much any intrusive thought there is on top of the main enemy HOCD. I’ve always had really bad anxiety and been an overthinking but this was never a convicting topic.

@wyattthedude This is my first time dealing with HOCD. I’ve had other obsessions before but not to this extent. I always had Anxiety too. I’m almost done with therapy here on NOCD

I want to feel normal again. That’s the only thing I want. The weird thing is if I knew it was true i’d be okay with it. It still feels so real sometimes. I’ve been doing a lot of research and it seems to be one of the most difficult things to solve.

@wyattthedude It wasn't clear at first that she knows. I'm glad. How has it ruined your romance? Is it just the heaviness of it?

@June Yes it has ruined our romance. My case has been so terrible. It hit me like a train along with a bunch of other stuff. And me being my honest self has filled my girlfriend in on every single thing. It’s the heaviness of it. And me feeling I don’t even know myself anymore.

@wyattthedude I'm sorry you're going through this. I haven't really figured out the impacts to my relationship yet. That's why I'm curious about your experience.

@June I think the main goal for me and her is open mindedness. Remembering our amazing times and bad times and knowing we’ve made it this far. No matter what happens i’ll always love her and she knows that. But have to love myself first before I can love her the way I used to.
