Can you tell me your experience about TOCD?

@miragunes Sure :). It started 3 months ago when I got triggered by this dumb meme and then I couldnt stop thinking about my gender identity. Just constant ruminating and going back into the past to "check" that I was once a girl and a lot of confusion. I feel like I've lost myself and it's not a nice feeling

How's your experience with TOCD?

I suffer from HOCD too and then i searched everything about LGBTQ+ and ı found non-binary and other genders. Then ı started question my gender identity.Actually my TOCD started 7 month ago but HOCD was my big issue at that time and ı just few compulsions for TOCD.But since February ı started to question more and more my gender identity.I started to hate everything feminine.I also feel uncomfortable when someone refers me as a girl or with my pronouns. But before TOCD I never questioned myself and always feel comfortable as a girl.Right now ı obsess my gender related terms/pronouns in 2 language. My biggest fear is being non-binary and other genders. But it feels so real and like actually dysphoria.I do a lot of compulsions, rumination, reassurance etc.I just want to be girl again. But ı feel like ı must be non binary because of this uncomfortable feeling.

@miragunes That's so shit. And the fact that gender identity and sexuality are fluid make it really stressful for people with OCD who feel like they have to find out. If it makes you feel better, it also feels real to me. I guess that's just OCD? The only way to really figsure out is to accept uncertainty and try and move on

@guesswhosback I can't sleep just crying all night in my bed.My brain says being girl is disgusting or weak thing. Also ı say to myself that i wish i was a boy/non-binary and it doesn't feel right.

@miragunes Ah that sucks so much. I say "boy" to see how it feels and it always feels gross but when your mind is screaming at you that you're not a girl you feel a bit lost. I'm so sorry that you're in this situation seriously. Is your HOCD any better?

@guesswhosback I still struggle with HOCD but ı don't care as mush as TOCD.Right now my main focus is TOCD.Also ı suffered from other OCD themes.I don't feel comfort anymore when i say ı'm girl.I feel like ı am in denial. My mind says that ı'll never feel comfortable as a girl.

Ah okay. All I can say is I'm here for you and the best thing to do (I'm struggling to do this) is to accept the thoughts (say okay cool) and then move on (don't stop to think). And everytime a thought pops up you don't even have to respond just move on, even if it feels very very real. Accept uncertainty over your identity and then the OCD will slow down once it realises you aren't scared anymore. Good luck 💗💗💗

is it normal to get scared when you accept the thoughts. like if i jsut say okay cool my mind will just start doubting me and be like you are trans.it causes me more anxiety. is that normal
