Hello! I don't experience this as often as other themes but I can share what I learned with my therapist and with my OCD throughout the years. If you are looking for ways to expose yourself to thoughts related to harming others or yourself, I can suggest some ways that may be helpful. If these thoughts show up throughout the day, try your best to sit with these thoughts for as long as you can without engaging with them. Try to accept that the thought is there, but don't give it your full attention. Tell yourself: I notice I am having this thought, but I will not give it my full attention. I will continue to do what I'm doing and accept that it is there. Try not to engage with thoughts such as: What if? What if this is true? What if I act upon my thoughts? This will only strengthen the fear and cause more distress for you, so try your best to stay away from these observations. If there's anything else more specific I can try to help! Hope this helps in some way

@marianaaa Hello. How are you? I hope you remember me. I would like to ask you some questions. Have you ever tried CBD products? Did they help you? Did they hyve side effects?

I am grateful for your help. One thing that bothers me sometimes is that my compulsions are more mental so i often cannot understand actually what the compulsions are. I think that my compulsions are the the questions that you wrote so i will try not to engage with then as you told me. Thanks very much.

I am happy to help! & yes I hear you. If you believe that you are constantly questioning yourself or over observing those “unwanted” thoughts, than that could be one of your mental compulsions. Try to stay away from those questions & tell yourself, I’m going to accept this thoight and sit with it, I will not give my full attention to this thought, I can continue doing what I’m doing and still have this thought! I would like to tell you something more. Sometimes due to OCD i kinda feel that i lack emotionally, something like that i I don't love other people as much as i would like to. Have you ever had the same problem?

I have experienced similar thoughts before yes! That is definitely OCD sabotaging you! When OCD tells you things such as: “you don’t love them enough” “you don’t actually love them” “you have no emotions” Start by treating it as a passing thought. Don’t engage in those thoughts I mentioned, they will only make you question yourself. That is what OCD wants. OCD wants you to question yourself and feel overwhelmed by the thoughts troubling you. Some ERP to help you: When those thoughts come by tell yourself: “So what?” Instead of “what if?” So what if this is true? I don’t know? I will accept this thought and move on. Hope this helps
