@Overcomer I understand how you feel bud, take a deep breath, relax for a moment, now let's talk a bit, the intrusive thoughts are just a human thing we all have, the thing we are doing wrong is focusing on the intrusive thoughts, they mean nothing and they are not under your control. God knows this. God knows we have ocd and how much it bothers us. He loves us just the way we are. Now as far as the unpardonable sin, it's not what we think it is. It related more to you denying the grace and mercy of God which you certainly are not doing nor can think it into being. God loves you and He forgives us all the time He knows how fragile we are but also knows that we can stand up to our fears and knows how ocd lies to us so He gives us weapons to fight back and that is His Word. A good prayer is breathe in and as you breathe out say Come Holy Spirit. Do this when you feel anxious and out of control, give your ocd to our Lord Jesus Christ tell Him how it makes you feel and He will help you carry the burden and anxiety. He loves us as we are.

@NOCD Advocate - Cesar O. That was beautiful, I really needed to hear this. I struggle with spiritual OCD too, mainly it twists LITERALLY EVERYTHING into a sin. …even showering was a sin according to my ocd. I also have this fear that for some reason I won’t go to heaven because what if I don’t understand Christianity the way I should. This ocd, relationship, and magical thinking are definitely my main themes ugh

@Where’sMySerotonin🦋 Hi I understand the feeling of all of a sudden everything becoming sinful according to ocd. It's a lie. I stayed away from showering for a period too because I would over think everything and I slowly allowed ocd to tell me what to do and what not to do, even as I write this ocs tried to kick in and get me to change some words which I won't do because ocd doesn't get to tell me what to do, anyways haha this is how you need to treat ocd as a bully or coward who likes to talk but doesn't like it when you ignore it, stand up to it. God is always with us He is faithful and His promises are good. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Ocd lies. God is truth. We can't work our way into Heaven, we alone couldn't do it, Jesus did that for us. We are children of God not because of our own efforts but because of Jesus! I do invite you to in a healthy and loving way get involved more in your faith and relationship with God. Look up more about your faith and what certain things mean. A site that helped me a lot is Scrupulous Anonymous, it's an amazing site that gives counsel to Christians suffering with scrupulosity or ocd, it explains a lot about our misunderstanding of the Christian life. Did you know God loves us just the way we are this instant, not for who we think we should be but for who we are this moment, He loves us! He is all merciful and good. He protects His children all the time. Rejoice! Ocd wants to keep us away from love but what is love? God is love and there is nothing or anything or anyone that can keep us away from God! Ever! Have faith don't be afraid. Listen to your therapist who God has provided to help us out of this struggle. Trust in Him in everything. Be ready to feel uncomfortable disregarding the thoughts and refusing compulsions but through this discomfort your faith will grow and determination will increase. I've never been closer to God than after I discovered I had ocd. Ocd tried to keep me away from God but it couldn't! And it will also fail with you, God will prevail!

@Overcomer You're welcome. Thank God always, know that recovery is not an easy task but you can do this because we have our Heavenly Father holding our hand at all times and He's been pleased to give us the Kingdom. We tiny humans and God loves us so much He has decided to call us His children, and every good father looks after his children. God bless you bud, God is near call out to Him.

@NOCD Advocate - Cesar O. Absolutely, OCD is a huge bully. I’ve given my life to Jesus and He is greater than any thought I could ever think. I have a very strong relationship with God and have my whole life- He’s got us! and THANK YOU! I’ve been trying to find something talking about OCD and Christianity but I couldn’t! God bless you. I will definitely be looking into that

Hi! I have been struggling with ocd for many years of my life, however, I have recently been struggling with religious ocd. Currently my ocd has been putting thought into my mind like, “you shouldn’t go to that party, because “God” doesn’t what you to” or “don’t do this or else it’s going to make “God” mad.” These thoughts have been overall causing me so much anxiety, and truly I don’t know what to do. I’ve been struggling to identify it’s actually Gods voice or not. Also, my ocd has been also making my prayer a very stressful part of my day, which is not how it should feel at all. Now finding peace in prayer feels more like a chore, than a conversation. Does anybody else have ocd like this? If so, any tips?
