Hi. I am literally in the same boat as you. I have HOCD and POCD and Trauma. I always had OCD but was able to live a normal life. I am in treatment @ Rogers ready to discharge and a new subtype came up. Ugh.

I feel hopeless and had a crying attack too. I am so sorry.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this too. Good to hear you’re in therapy, I start mine next week hopefully. This has all started within the past months. I mean you would’ve thought I was hit with a ton of bricks at once. After learning about OCD and the symptoms, I can definitely look back on my life and notice similarities. I have not been diagnosed with OCD so this is mere speculation, but there are just too many similarities for me not to think I suffer from OCD.

That’s what I thought too. And what most scholarly written articles state. It’s a cruel thing but absolutely legit. I haven’t received treatment and/or medicication. I’m looking forward to feeling better. Have you gone through ERP? Any successes? Advice? Has the medication worked for you?

@leo1188 that was super helpful, thank you. Real good insight to know, especially going into my diagnostic and therapy next week! I can’t believe you had that reaction to the medication, that seems scary. I’m hoping I can get through this without medication, but am open to it. If you don’t mind me asking, what was a “manic episode” to you? I ask because I have had several of those experiences the past few weeks were I will ruminate for hours, searching google-trying to understand why I am experiencing this all of a sudden. Like you, I never knew OCD could affect like this. It comes in waves, but usually have severely upsetting days and ok days.
