They’re most likely will always be there but when you accept the thoughts and let them be, you’re teaching your brain that you don’t need to panic and see the thoughts as a threat. That’s the key.

It’s all really the same though. It’s just more ocd and learning to sit with the new thoughts isn’t easy but you can do it.

We ALL have thoughts; it’s teaching the OCD brain to not be so afraid and panic. Learning to live with thoughts and just knowing they are a thought is important.

When you get a stuck thought in your mind, as stupid or untrue as it may be, how do any of you block them out, or try to at least? It’s like my mind has another voice telling me making up the stupidest things?

I've been told a lot that in order to get better, we need to tolerate uncertainty, which yea I get that and I'm trying every day more and more to reach that point!! But I've also been told that we need to tolerate uncertainty AND "our worst fears becoming true". Like how does that work, especially with POCD, OCD about a///ault, SA and all of that? Like that is really difficult for me and I don't really understand how I'm supposed to just shrug stuff like that off

I’m trying to let them pass not engage nothing , trying to compusle but the thoughts won’t leave. My brain keeps telling me I should stab my dad for not asking if I’m okay after the death of my ex …
