What kind of like feelings and thoughts do you have?

First it starts with getting upset, that leads to elevating my anxiety which then ends up in intrusive thoughts. At that point i have racing intrusive thoughts, about all kinds of ocd themes.

But after having therapy ive learned to take a deep breath just let them run there course and not take them personal since it is not coming from me but rather coming from the disorder itself. And move on with no compulsions or reassurance or anything anymore

Feelings of fear, guilt, worry, depression, or stress, even little sleep, and an unhealthy lifestyle can elevate ocd

Can OCD just permanently go away on its own?

Typically from all the research and educational knowledge I've received it doea not go away. However, the more left untreated the worse it will get worse

I would say if youre not getting therapy currently, you should start with therapy. Otherwisr you could start with an ocd book, youtube talks on ocd, and even on this app there are many experts who give the same information a therapist would.

Sorry i meant to say ocd does not go away on its on it'll either be easier to manage or completely go away by treating it. But if left completely untreated it just wont go away

Signs as in stop signs or signs like "messages?"

Like a song you're listening to says for example "you need to let go" or "I love someone else" and it triggeres you and I get scared and think that its something trying to tell me that my relationship isnt right.

Yes i used to get triggered by songs or shows movies etc and take certain things from them as signs, but the more knowledge ive received about ocd the more ive known it was just the disorder of ocd acting up. Especially now years later i think back to those thoughts and laugh at how i was so wrapped up in these intrusive thoughts thinking i was seeing or hearing from songs signs which at thw time i thought wrre real but years later i realized they never ever not even slightly came true. And so now with pure ocd intrusive thoughts that I'll get and if my ocd gets triggered by a "sign," from anything, i compare it to how i used to think it was real and that helps me come into reality, snap out of it, and know now that its just ocd and what the disorder does.

I know this is an old post, but I really needed to hear this. I am struggling a lot with “signs.” It makes it impossible to make a rational decision.

I’ve asked this before and got no response but can ocd try to make you feel a certain way that you don’t actually feel? Such as telling you you’re jealous or upset in a situation when you don’t even care or feel that way at all. Can ocd cause you to feel the emotion along with the intrusive thought even though it’s not your true feelings?

Whenever anyone starts to feel like their thoughts are less triggering or they feel a moment of happiness/ relief OCD tells you that you want the thoughts back or you actually like having the thoughts and maybe thats just the person I really am? I feel like im going insane😢

I’m constantly finding myself getting irritated easily and sometimes it even confuses me because I was happy and fine two seconds ago. Like I feel emotionally unstable. I also randomly will get sentimental or sad and I just start crying. Is this just me??
