You could just not want to watch it because you don't like the show. You may not want to watch it because you're trying to avoid a triggering situation You may not want to watch it because you want to watch something else. There are endless reasons to not want to watch something.
it's because yesterday a character came out as bi and it was SUPER triggering but what if it's just my internalised homophobia??? i don't even feel so anxious about this thought
@Nour04 No. It's because you have OCD and you're anxious. Your brain is lying to you.
@BigAl15 i don't think i have ocd
@Nour04 Then why are you on an OCD app? It might be beneficial to see a professional who can help you
@BigAl15 i don't know i think i do but it's been less severe and doesn't feel like ocd anymore which is kinda worrying me
I know what you mean about queer love in tv shows being triggering. I’ve been there. Honestly I would watch the tv show as an exposure if you feel ready to do so. Avoidance is a compulsion. If you can teach your brain to be triggered and then not respond to that trigger with compulsions it will become more comfortable over time.
i did eventually watch it. it was a tad uncomfortable
@Nour04 That’s so good! It’s great to sit with that discomfort!
