Hi friend. Do they not have many therapists available right now? Are you trying to get a therapist with NOCD? But I can totally relate to being afraid of my OCD not being understood... I'm thinking about starting therapy and it's been years since I've even been in therapy at all. But I'm so afraid that a therapist won't understand me and they will tell me I'm lying about my OCD. I feel like I'm worrying irrationally, but it's still my biggest fear right now... plus I don't want to pay a lot of money for therapy because I don't have insurance. OCD is scary and finding someone you feel like you can trust is even scarier... having friends on this app to talk is great and helpful for sure, but having a therapist who is licensed to specifically offer the best medical advice for your specific OCD is different entirely. I hope we can both get the proper help we need soon friend. I'm glad we are friends though and that we can be here for each other and help in the best way we can. :)

Yes I am going through NOCD (even though they don’t take my insurance I’m just paying myself which is rough) and I lost my therapist not sure if I’m allowed to say why but I’m in transition to getting another one but haven’t heard back yet so they are probably still searching. I definitely recommend it. I can’t understand the financial part of it all but just being able to talk to a professional about what you are going through and getting professional help is so worth it. I love this community thought and I’m grateful to have met such nice and helpful people who have made me feel so much less alone in my journey with OCD. You are definitely one of them friend! I hope we both get the help we need and that we can beat this OCD demon once and for all!

@Just Breathe ❤️ I really hope we can beat this OCD demom too once and for all... I've been praying to God every day for help with my OCD, I've also been praying to God for Him to help you with your specific struggles that you've been facing your OCD too Just Breathe. :) I'm also praying for some other people on here right now too. I don't understand the financial part of it either... but it stresses me out thinking about it... but I know it will all work out for both of us to get the proper help we need in God's perfect timing. I've met some really nice and helpful people here on this app too, and you are definitely one of them too Just Breathe! :) I feel less alone than I did before, I feel like I have people standing beside me I can look to for support and encouragement. I'm glad we've been able to talk on here everyday, even if it's just been for an hour or two hours at night sometimes. I hope we can both continue to stay in touch with each other on a regular basis. :)

@Drew777 That is so nice of you. I will definitely keep you in my prayers as well, along with some others. My heart goes out to everyone in this community. Ocd is so debilitating and just knowing we are not alone in this is just so helpful. Some days when I’m around my co workers/friends and my family I feel like they just don’t get it. They don’t understand ocd. Ocd is so stigmatized and misunderstood and it makes me so sad. But I come on here and I’m not saying I like to see people struggle, I really don’t. I want everyone to be happy and successful but it’s just nice to know I’m not fighting by myself. But yes in Gods timing all things are possible and will work out for good. I’m very glad that I could have made a friend (and more friends) on here and I hope that we can stay in touch as well!

@Just Breathe ❤️ Yeah, OCD is very stigmatized and misunderstood... it's great to have people on here to talk to who can relate. Because I agree, no one really seems to understand OCD completely if they don't have it themselves, so it can add to the loneliness that OCD causes... I'm so thankful for friends on here, and I'd say you're my best friend I've made on here, so thank you for that. I'm also so thankful to my wife for her amazing support that she provides me with each day. :) she doesn't have OCD, but she helps me so much and she is always here for me even when she doesn't always completely understand my OCD, she still offers great advice and it brings me such great encouragement and positivity. :)

I've just been kind of busy today How! How are you doing today Just Breathe? :) By the way, did you send me a friend request on Nintendo Switch? I have a friend request on my Nintendo Switch and I just wanted to be sure it was from you, lol.

@Just Breathe ❤️ Actually the friend request might be from someone I played with on Splatoon 2 last night, lol. It says it was from someone I met on there last night. Sorry, lol.

@Just Breathe ❤️ I'm sorry that you had a rough day friend... :( I feel bad that you're still struggling with all of this, I wish I had better advice that could really help more... but I had a rough day too, I feel like I normally feel pretty overwhelmed all day and then at night is when I really start to feel better normally. I think facing the day is just the toughest part sometimes, just knowing that I'm going to have OCD trying to bother me is the most overwhelming thing a lot. I'm sorry that you're frustrated, but I can tell you that you're not alone in that because I'm frustrated by my OCD and the pain and sadness it brings too. I don't know if that very helpful at all though. And yeah, if you want to get online and add me tonight that would be cool, but you don't have to feel pressured or obligated to though. If you have other stuff planned for tonight that's fine. :) just do whatever is most helpful for you friend. :)

@Drew777 I’m the same way actually. Once I get to work my anxiety goes up and I feel tense all day and then when I get home and I watch some YouTube and relax a bit it kind of goes away. Unfortunately this past week I’ve been feeling the same all day long. I’m so sorry you are going through this too but I am praying for you friend and I hope you feel better soon! I will add you soon for sure!

@Just Breathe ❤️ I'm sorry that we're both going through this too friend... but I'm glad at the end of the day I can at least tell myself "this is just my OCD". It makes a difference in my mind to at least be able to say with confidence that what I'm dealing with is definitely OCD. Unfortunately though it does really suck having to deal with it all day... but hopefully in time we can get the proper help from a therapist or psychiatrist that we need so that it can make all this easier for us. :) What do you like to watch on YouTube? There is so many cool videos on YouTube, and I love just listening to music while I'm trying to chill or even while I'm doing chores sometimes too. Oh, I know I asked you the other night what your favorite genres of music were, but do you have a favorite song specifically? :)

@Drew777 I watch just random you tubers, I also watch a lot of TikTok too. I love listening to music. I can’t pick a favorite song though it’s soooooo hard to pick just one. If I had to pick one right now it would be my favorite Christian song called “Until Grace” by Tauren Wells and Rascal Flatts. It’s so good and it just helps me feel a little better. What about you do you have a favorite song?

@Just Breathe ❤️ Lol, I agree with you, it's hard to pick just one favorite song. But right now one I really like listening to is "Changes" by Magnifikate. It's not a Christian song, but it has no lyrics, it's just a chill electronic song. I think I've heard the song "Until Grace" that you're talking about, I think. I'll look it up next time I'm on YouTube. :) did you listen to that song "Don't Quit" by Jordan Smith that I sent you last week? I think that's a really encouraging song that reminds us that Jesus really experienced everything that we experience too, so we can definitely know that we're not alone. Music really reaches into our hearts and plants something beautiful there. :) I've watched Tik-Tok on YouTube sometimes, they're pretty funny, but I don't actually have the Tik-Tok app, lol.

My name is Abbey and I’m a 14 year old girl struggling with OCD, I don’t like to say my OCD is severe but it’s the truth. I haven’t been officially diagnosed but I’m still being treated for it kinda via medication by my doctor. The reason I’m nervous about starting my therapy journey is I’m worried the therapist won’t understand what im saying or take it the wrong way and think I’m a bad person even though I know I’m a good hearted person. If you have any tips to overcome my fear of therapy please share! ✌️🧡

It's going to be a year since I started the worst POCD episode of my life. I got diagnosed almost a year ago too, but the frequency of our sessions wasn't ideal and also I was in a very bad state (24/7 anxious and couldn't leave my bed) so I started taking medication a few months ago. But when I started with the meds my therapist kind of ghosted me? She said she's going to be very busy until May this year. That's why I booked an appointment with a new therapist my psychiatrist recommended. But I am deeply scared the moment I tell her everything she's going to send the police to my house and my life is going to end. Please help! How do I calm down? Can that actually happen?

Is there a therapist or a specialist on here that I can briefly chat with? Or maybe an OCD conqueror who’s very familiar with the disorder? I need an experienced person to talk to me so bad. I just really wanna talk to somebody about what I’m going through so that I feel less alone, and so I can maybe get help managing my symptoms. Thank you in advance ♥️
