Yes!!!! I actually just made a post about this. I'm going through that right now. One analogy I heard about ocd that helped me was, think of ocd as a monster. When something happens that triggers you, it's the monster asking for food. Giving into compulsions, you're feeding that monster. The more often you feed the monster the bigger it's going to become and the more it will expect food from you. Right now that "monster" is hungry and confused because it's used to getting food all the time. Stay strong and the monster will understand that you're not going to give it food, it will get smaller and come back less and less.

So I’ve noticed that my OCD has calmed down, I’m getting less intrusive thoughts but I feel more uncertain than ever. Is this normal for recovery?

Does anyone who has gotten better/healed with OCD ever experience that their thoughts and urges get more difficult as you get better. I feel like I am getting better at handling certain things but I feel like now newer themes and such get more difficult as I progress. I was curious if this is kind of the process to getting better. Weirdly, like it makes sense the closer you are to getting better thoughts become worst and stronger since you are doing better. Just need to keep on pushing and doing what I have been. Let me know, would love to hear your guys thoughts and feedback

I think I’m in the recovery stage as my thoughts have settled so much & I only get intrusive thoughts on occasion and get worse only when I’m anxious, but the quietness in my brain feels so weird & I feel awful saying that because all I wanted was the thoughts to stop. This is the most quiet it’s been it’s over 7 months, so to go from non stop thoughts for a long time to quietness I don’t know how to take it. Has anyone else felt like this in recovery
