Yes. I dissect things for lond periods of time, overthink everything, and I get 'stuck thoughts' whether it's a song, phrase, word, or even memories (real and false).. when I'm on one of my strong themes i dissect the theme trying to prove or disprove it, then I just end up with elaborate alternate endings to my ruminated scenarios.. OCD sucks lmao

I often will sort evidence of things in true vs not true. Lots and LOTS of ruminating. And yeah i dissect certain things piece by piece, verbally walk through situations from start to finish and comb over every little detail. Repeat certain things. Lots and lots of internal dialogues. Comparing thought a vs thought b. Whats true, whats fake, telling my entire lifes story ?

I'm doing the self help route as well since I cant find an OCD therapist. In seeing a therapist for the PTSD, but she's just not trained in OCD so when I started cbt with her, she was enabling the OCD. If you dont have the right therapist it can add fuel to the fire. So self help it is. Any books yall would recommend?

You mind giving me a little insight as to how yours work? Like do you have to disect things for a long time and overthink certain thoughts?

I always try to stop myself and go "i dont have time for this. I can do this later" or i say to myself "i already talked about this" and try the postponing method. each time i catch myself i put it off for a little bit longer. Some days it works and others it not so works

I would say do CBT first so you have the emotional tools to handle ERP

Cbt is VERY hard. Ive always been a very cynical thinker over my life, and at 28 its a lot of habits to break. Ive been taking it very slowly since i cant afford a therapist
