you know the famous catchphrase “IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!” whenever i have an intrusive thought, i tried to say, “IT’S OCD!” in the same tone. it takes away the seriousness and adds humor to it it lol.

The absurdity of some of the thoughts my brain cones up with. My brain likes to tell me that I don't really have OCD and am just making things up for attention. It also told me "ERP has worked for countless other people. But you are the exception. I won't work for you" Another one is "Your OCD is only moderate. You don't deserve to be in treatment. You should drop out and let someone whose symptoms are more severe take your place. Like what the heck?

My OCD recently said, “You don’t have enough clothes. You need to buy new clothes or else you’ll die.” I was like… ma’am, my closet is full. Get outta town with your hot mess 🤣🤣🤣

I think it's important to be able to make fun of yourself and joke about these things, so, just for fun, what's the silliness obsession you've had? Here's mine: when I was six I convinced myself that my overdue library books would create a butterfly effect that would end the world

One of my best coping mechanisms somedays is to remember that while my OCD causes a lot of mental distress, it also can be a strength of mine. OCD has allowed me to thrive in my job, I tend to pay attention to small details and be in very good control of my work. I know exactly what is going on and often think before I say or jump to anger. I tend to apologize when something is truly wrong and be more genuine. I just know we all get in the habit of OCD being this absolutely terrible thing,,; and often it is,, but it also can be a strength in some. It shows I have empathy, am loyal, and a hard worker based on my attention to detail and want for control (even with my thoughts) ♥️♥️
