- "Pure" OCD
I did at one time. But through ERP I feel like I am starting to get it back.
Despite being in therapy and doing all my erp I still absolutely feel this way too 😔 things i used to enjoy have just become triggers and sometimes I get so mad and frustrated with myself that I have to work to feel normal again and do normal things like go to work. It feels like my OCD still dominates and dictates so much of my day that I still get really sad about it and some days I feel like I go back to square one.
That is totally normal. You will feel worse before you feel better. OCD is a lot like a toddler throwing a tantrum to get either a reaction or something they want. The best thing you can do is ignore it. Eventually, the toddler will realize they aren't going to get what they want by throwing a tantrum and will stop. Anytime you make an attempt to ignore or resist OCD it will throw a tantrum. It doesn't like losing control over you or being ignored. But eventually, it will give up when it realizes its not going to get s reaction. This is a tough stage. But if you keep doing ERP, it will pass.
