I think this affected my ability to automatically take in what is said during movies/videos. For example I’m hyperaware of eye contact with people so when I watch movies i try to avoid this but at the same time I can’t automatically take in what is said. Therefore I prefer adding subtitles. Idk if this is a hyperawareness thing. Anyone experience this too.
Maybe when no-one is around it is easier to let the anxiety take over, especially if you are a shy person and you worry about how you look. So if thats OCD related then it makes sense. Personally, I either avoid eye contact or I am hyperaware of it and I can remeber feeling weird an actor looked directly at the screen for a long time.

Anyone struggle with this with having ocd?
Anyone ever have a conversation and think you said a intrusive thoughts out loud. Then you panic and go over and over the convo , reviewing it and remembering people's reactions,to see if they noticed your thoughts or read your lips? Sometimes it feels like I have to look away when talking as the thoughts could be shouted out if we make eye contact .such a powerful erge to say thoughts out load . . It's like the more you fight off the thoughts the louder they want to be . You can feel your self bubbling up inside . Then you get one and boom ,you think you've said it out load.
I’m new to the app and wanting to know who else experiences this form of ocd. Some background I was a therapist for over 10 years now I am out of the clinical space. So I have background knowledge of ocd but never knew much about relationship ocd. I realized over the last several years with my now fiancé, that I have a hard time just letting go in general, whether that’s an argument or statement or feeling. I want to be able to just accept things at face value and move on (and talk later if my partner is ready as needed). But when conflict arises I can’t disengage till there is a clear resolution. It’s causing serious strife as he can feel trapped and it escalates the argument. I am reading more and this sounds like relationship OCD. Anyone else experience this? Curious on what others have done to work on this for themselves. I do have a therapist but we are not doing work in this area yet as I am realizing this is an actual concern.
