When getting false memories, do the actions playing out in them feel too real ? Like you can see yourself doing the action, you know the action could be a "possibility" you have a familiar feeling something like that happened, and playing out the action feels real. You acting out something on someone. I really feel like I'm so alone in this....
Also I know OCD can trick you into believeing things, but with false memories does it trick you into making you believe they are real with how real the feelings are ?
I have the same thing, my thoughts make me think I did something and the thought gets so vivid that it actually feels like I did it even though I know I didn’t. Your mind knows exactly how to make you stress out and create anxiety so the more you get anxious about it the realer it feels and the thoughts gets more into detail
Thank you for the reply exxgon. As I've described before you can say I had a video addiction so I've seen so many things and sometimes I'd "practice" doing some things (not on others). Could my addiction be trying to correlate with my real event to make it seem like I genuinely did something ? Cause its like the action seems so real and I see the part and it being acted out but thats really all I see. I have no experience with anyone so its like how ? But it just seems like I did something and feels so believeable and real.

@InkJoy123 I really agree with the article and I 100 percent do think that could be it. Our imagination is very wide and we can imagine the craziest things we don’t want to, like if I day dream about me eating something I’ll start looking back in my day to see if I actually did. I have false memories about me harming someone and it feels weirdly true when the intrusive thoughts begin to come but I never have but your mind convinces you so much and it keeps going in circles and the images and thoughts get worse that you begin to feel like you actually did it because why do you feel these things if they aren’t true. I slowly pushed the thoughts away and I am 100% sure I have never ever harmed someone like ever but your intrusive thoughts get so bad that it could convince you into anything
@InkJoy123 Vivid imagination absolutely sucks I struggle with the same thing, it could definitely be just your imagination and you overthinking too much about it and over analyzing it. I believe just don’t think too much about the thought
I have thoughts that feel so realistic to the point I’m hysterically crying because the moment feels too real, It’s always about my family dying:(
Yeah its like I can feel doing the action so vividly like yes ive done it !! But its like ugh if I did its horrible !! So its like do others feel this way ?? Idk I feel so alone cause usually its thoughts but I'm like no the situation feels so familiar, feels so real, I see me doing the action, but I would have remembered something like that before so I know I can't fully say its real.... maybe my imagination did too much and makes it seem pretty real. So sorry you have those thoughts :(
I don't think it helps going back and trying to see if that feeling is still there or not...

Does anyone else’s false memory intrusive thoughts of what could have happened feel very, very real?
When false memories have popped up for you guys, did they feel real straight away like pop up like a memory but you’re still doubting whether they’re real?
Can it feel like you literally remember a false memory happening? And it feels like the memory has always been there and you vividly remember it happening that way? Because I don’t even know if I’m experiencing a false memory or not but god it feels so fucking real. Like I literally remember it happening. But what’s weird is the original memory was kind of different. 2 years later, the memory is not the same, but it feels like I literally remember it happening. And in this memory, I’m fucking snapping. I’m acting on my thoughts. I feel like a fucking psycho. I hope this is just OCD
