Insecurity and OCD

i know ocd can sometimes introduce personality traits and stuff (like generally being scared of risks/linked to fears) but can it be a factor of my crippling insecurity? i honestly don’t know anyone more insecure and secretive as myself and i jsut wanna know if my bad reflection on myself thinking i’m a bad person with no talent (my hobbies are the creative type) so i want to know if any of you are the same or if it’s a normal part of it. idk how to even put up with myself

In my case I don't know if it's because of ocd but I'm also hugely insecure..... Specially when I'm around new people.. New place or just with people whom i have not spend much time thus I'm very uncomfortable with them..... Actually since childhood i couldn't mix up with people very quickly...... But i wasn't this Insecure back then...maybe i was just shy that's why i used to take much more time to mix with people or to make friends....... But now I'm just so bloody insecure.......

@Have Some Chocolate 🍫 yeah i feel ya, i’ve always had trouble making friends, resulting in my not having many meaningful connections. friends are so fulfilling so it’s not hard to imagine that having fewer ones feels crappy. like i’m such a bad person no one wants to be around me that’s what it feels like and it feeds to my insecurities

@amysmith I actually could make friends but not so much like other people can..... But unfortunately i don't have a single friend now..... For some reason... Or no reason.... I do not have that friendship with people which i had in past....... I think i can mix up with people but i take much more time than other people..... It takes time for me to get connection with people..... I mean i just can't mix with them instantly...... But now this thing was a past thing...... I mean i couldn't mix up with people instantly and i needed time to mix... I believe this is just cause of my personality.... This is just how i am..... But Now my current thing is a different one that is I'm just so fuvking insecure among people and i have no friends that makes it more insecure and sad...... I mean my past thing was cause of my personality...... But i don't think i had this much of insecurity back then.... That was maybe because of shyness or just my personality....... But my current thing is a different one...... Forget mixing up with people or making new friends i just can't even be myself peacefully among people...... And feel like shit and inferior whenever I'm with people in general.....

@amysmith I was feel like such a bad person..... And feel like i have a boring personality that's why maybe my friends left me and i have just got no friends now..... I have seen a lot of people here feeling the same thing like a bad person...... So You're NOT a bad person.... It's just you feel like that......Your anxiety and insecurities are the cause you are feeling like a bad person....I hope and Pray You feel Better With Yourself..... You have a Beautiful Unique personality of Your own that no other had/has in this Whole Existence.....So don't be Hard on yourself Cause of the current situations.... And your insecurities..... I may not know you personally..... But i believe You're definitely a Good Human Being with a Beautiful Personality otherwise you wouldn't have been concerned about being bad....So don't beat up yourself 💙

@Have Some Chocolate 🍫 thank you, you’re so sweet and i can see how amazing you are! i do have that thign where i just think i’m too different or boring or something. i have had friends in the past but it was all toxic and i’ve had so many toxic friends it makes me scared i did something

@amysmith Thanks... Yea i also think I'm boring maybe that's why my friends left me.... It really sucks to have less or no friends.... But now i really have given up on friendship.... Specially when my last best friend deceived me... She was the only friend i had..... Now she also gone i have given up on friendship..... I don't think i will find any good friend in my lifetime.... And tbh neither i want any friend now.... None of my friends were loyal to me.....so i don't want to form any friendship now anymore just to having watch them leave or deceive me for nothing......

@amysmith No you seem very nice.... It's cause they were toxic it's their problem not yours.... Don't feel bad for other people's wrongdoing on you.... It's not cause of you.... They are at fault....

@Have Some Chocolate 🍫 i hope things work out, i also hope that you atleast have some family. it honestly sucks not getting any face to face communication. i mainly just have my mum it’s better than nothing but try to socialise with ur family and hang out with them, it helps me feel less alone. it sucks not having friends tbh but there’s small ways we can socialise somehow

And yes i have a lovely family 😊 but the thing is I'm not so much comfortable with my parents 😅 it's good that you're comfortable with your Mom...... Spend More Time With her... It's really very nice to be comfortable with Mother which I'm not very much 😅 but i still talk to her...... And I'm very comfortable with my little sister...... But as she's younger than me she doesn't understand much thing 😅 And I really Wish And Pray things Work Out in your life too and May God Grant you all the things you want and desire.... ❤️

A little sad and down. I just feel uncomfortable in my own skin. I grew up with trauma, made mistakes, dealt and still deal with hyper sexuality, and my ocd is so bad. All of this makes me feel tainted, like a weird bad person. I hate being around people and even talking to therapist bc I feel like ive successfully fooled them. Also, I recently saw a POCD hate train on TikTok so now I just feel like a fraud. I get all these thoughts and feelings that im just using ocd as a mask because I actually am a bad person.. and that im some sicko or something, and also my brain tells me and I go back and forth with myself about “oh you just have morals because you don’t want to be shunned from society, and if you were to have no rules you would do disturbing things” and I know I wouldn’t, because I have morals now that are ingraved into me…I just want a normal life. I just want to feel normal. I tend to feel useless in this world, when I really want to do good things but I feel tainted and like I taint this world. I try not to let this consume me but it’s hard.. If you read this thank you. I know I am just in a funk right now but sometimes I wonder if it will be a forever funk… or that I need to “accept” im a bad person so that I can move on… which I won’t bc even if I am (maybe maybe not… I will never know with ocd) I wouldn’t want to be.

Where did my confidence go?

I am struggling to feel like I deserve any of the confidence I used to have. I’ve done a lot of pretty cool stuff in my life, and I used to think it was impressive. I was so proud, and I would light up when others gave me compliments. Now, it feels like all a lie, and I can’t stop thinking everyone would hate me if they knew the terrible things I’ve thought or said or done. I make art, for example, and I’ve had a lot of success with it. But now, I feel like others would troll me or destroy my work, and then tell everyone that anything I touch is trash. Basically, I fear being bullied for the mistakes of my past — or even just for my thoughts. My therapist keeps telling me I’m completely normal and I’m the only one beating myself up, but my OCD says, “No, she’s wrong — you should stop pursuing your dreams and push away anyone who likes you, because they’ll all hate you eventually.” I know it’s ridiculous, but it feels so real. Anyone have advice for rebuilding confidence in the face of OCD?

Is this OCD or just...me?

I'm really struggling to figure out where my OCD ends and where I begin. I’m scared of most things—not in a panicky way, but in a deep, cautious, worst-case-scenario kind of way. Example: I haaaaaaaaate my spectacles. I’d love to do Lasik, or even just wear contacts, but the idea terrifies me. I’ve heard about the tiniest risk of blindness or infection, and once that thought is in my head, it takes over. I picture the worst, and then I don’t act. TRIGGER Also Lasik involves cutting TRIGGER which petrifies me. I’m stuck between wanting change and being too afraid to make it. The same goes with wanting to travel but being scared I'll be trafficked or someone will plant something in my bag & I'll get arrested overseas. No amount of praying will fix it. Does anyone else feel like their OCD makes them freeze in everyday decisions? Like you can’t tell if you're just being practical or if it's the OCD gripping the steering wheel again? Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's not OCD but my personality, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
