Fear of sleepwalking
I have harm OCD, and I am very afraid of sleepwalking and harming someone or a pet, this fear is what helped me figure out I had OCD and have had it my whole life. I haven’t slept well in over 3 weeks and I keep sleeping in the same bed as a family member, as I am afraid of sleepwalking. I have only sleepwalked once in my life as a child. I am very tired as I have been getting around 5 hours sleep every night and it is broken sleep. My family members do reassure me that when I am sleeping next to them I am just sleeping normally. I want to start handcuffing myself to my night stand, but I worry that would be giving into a compulsion (and a fire hazard). Has anyone else experienced this fear of sleepwalking? What steps should I take to overcome it?
